The music of this Duo is marked by each member's influence on the others "Snétberger's technique on the strings is phenomenal. With its classical lucidity, technical flawlessness and perfect runs, his playing increases to a vertiginous intoxication of guitaristic virtuosity - "while still having a poetic content. Markus Stockhausen is different: On his instruments he always looks for the unusual (without penetrating the experimental fields of noise). His melodies often take leaps and seem to be based rather on exploring the intervals than an inner feel. Yet Stockhausen masters also the conventional playing in jazz scales. So two totally different musicians came to an artistic consense. It is just the discrepancy between both of them that makes this combination interesting."

Il nome del gruppo, nato dall'incontro avvenuto in Italia di due musicisti italiani, con il sassofonista belga e il contrabbassista olandese, fa riferimento a Guillaume Dufay, uno dei massimi esponenti di quella scuola di compositori fiamminghi del Quattrocento che con l'Italia hanno avuto rapporti intensissimi.
L'ideale collegamento è divenuto anche fonte d'ispirazione per il repertorio del gruppo, sia per quanto riguarda la trascrizione e l'adattamento di musiche di quel periodo che per la scelta di atmosfere e modi di scrittura da utilizzare nelle composizioni originali.
