You are probably about to read some things that will piss you off. If you are normal, that is the likely result. If you're not normal, and what you read doesn't piss you off, then we are likely to become the best of friends, because you show a wisdom and enlightenment that escapes 99% of the populace.

I am Awesome. Do not question my Awesomeness. If you impress me, I might very well dub you awesome one day. But don't hold your breath.

Also, there is a LOT of information on this page - I don't apologize for it. The point is for someone to get as complete a picture of me as possible. You can learn more about me from reading this page than you can in probably 20 conversations with me. If you take the time to read everything on here (and I do mean ..everything..), by the time you're finished you will know whether or not I am the kind of person you would want to be friends with (or more, if you are of the female persuasion). If you ..really.. want to know me inside and out, take the time to read EVERYTHING on here - including (and almost especially) my blogs. Subscribe to them, even. If nothing else, you'll learn something and expand your mind's horizon.

Oh, another thing: If you have a hard time reading the white text on this psychedelic background, don't just give up or read it in small doses - highlight it and copy and paste the text onto your word processor and read it that way.

Other caveats:

• I may be the most opinionated person you've ever met, however, my opinions are based on logic, tons of research, and enlightenment… so they're never wrong. Suggesting otherwise can result in two outcomes: If your position is also based on logic, research, and is based on facts that I simply am unaware of, then I would welcome such a debate and might even end up changing my mind (my beliefs are not above reevaluation… and actually, anyone who's beliefs are above reevaluation is an idiot of the highest caliber). On the other hand, if your position is based on nothing other than the fact that it's what you've always believed, due to upbringing or other erroneous factors, you have just opened yourself up to a most unpleasant experience: having your belief shredded by someone who is far more well-equipped to debate these kinds of issues than you are. It can be extremely humiliating, and I don't recommend it.

• There are two categories of people to which I am prejudiced against: stupid people and closed-minded people. If you belong to either of these two groups, please don't talk to me.

• The closed-minded group mentioned above most certainly includes Jesus freaks. I cannot warn this group of people emphatically enough. I will shred you. The Bible is a work of fiction intended to teach morality through stories - it is not literal. Darwin was right, and Adam and Eve are a bad joke. Furthermore, organized religion is the bane of civilized society and the worst thing that is ever happened to humankind. Now before you go making assumptions, I should tell you now that I am one of the most spiritual people that I know. I believe in what most people would call God, although that term is so ubiquitous that it has lost its true meaning, and I only use the term as a matter of convention. To be succinct, spirituality is the solution - organized religion is the problem.

I'm just a bloke who has recently gone back to West Virginia University to make a career change from pharmacy to law. I've never been married, not because I haven't had the chance, but because I'm still looking for my one true soul mate. I've been in love before, and those experiences have shown me how good a relationship can and should be. What I mean by that is, I won't settle for second best because I know what I deserve and what kind of person I'm capable of having. I've set the bar pretty high in terms of my expectations. I'm not a typical guy in the sense that I'm a lot more sensitive, loving, affectionate, emotional, honest, loyal and caring than most guys, and I need the same from anyone that I would get involved with. I'm not looking for just a hook up. I want the whole package. I just miss the feeling of being head over heels in love with someone.



NOTE: The following is now on here for "getting to know you" purposes only. I am officially "off the market." I'm with someone now who I have more in common with than I've ever had with anyone, and who treats me better than anyone ever has. It still floors me to think about it - that I found someone who is so much like me in their worldview and take on things.... I am SO lucky! I can't imagine ever finding someone who would be a better match for me than Aprile. So, that's why this is for informational purposes only now. =)

I absolutely insist on honesty. Lies will destroy a relationship easier than anything else. Also I would have to have someone who (once they are in love with someone) would put me first in their life, so if you're someone with children, we probably aren't going to be a good match because I require a lot of time and attention and I don't like to compete over those things in a relationship. Not to be conceited, but just to put my expectations out there, I would have to have someone who is physically attractive. I'm not exactly hard on the eyes either, so I expect the same in someone I would want to be in a relationship with. I won't meet anyone before seeing what they look like (due to some really scary [but funny in hindsight] experiences), so if you don't have a picture of yourself that you can send me and/or aren't planning on getting one soon, meeting is pretty much out of the question.

I am a very spiritual person who does have a relationship with a power greater than myself, but I do not approve of organized religion - Spirituality is the best of what man has to offer. Religion is the WORST of what man has to offer. I would want someone who feels the same way. Religion has caused more suffering, death, alienation and trouble throughout history than all the other reasons for those things put together. Religion is the bane of society and has exponentially caused more harm than good. Anyone who believes that the bible should be taken literally, or believes that the entire human race was created by two people instead of from evolution, then you and I are going to have fundamental differences that are probably irreconcilable. Anyone who can still believe in the idea of creation even in the face of scientific PROOF to the contrary seriously needs a check-up from the neck up. Those people have allowed themselves to be brainwashed by the evils of religion and have lost the ability to think for themselves. Genetics have proved beyond any debate that evolution is a FACT, not a theory. Furthermore, any geneticist knows that it takes around 50-60 genetically divergent couples in order to have a gene pool large enough to populate a species without having serious birth defects and other problems. Anyone who can still think that the creationist view is anything more than a fable or a story while there is indisputable scientific proof flying in their face is not someone I want anything to do with.

Where did we come from? What are we? Where are we going? People want answers to the first two questions. They want reassurances for the third. The answers I learned when I was first exposed to organized religion as a child by my grandmother, who was a fanatic southern Baptist, were part of a neat little package: God made me. At the moment of conception, he breathed life into a tiny lump of inert matter, thereby creating an immortal soul, my self, unique from every other being that existed (and I was ok with all of that so far - AND STILL AM!). I was to know him, love him, and (here's where it becomes problematic) to serve him. And my fate? Everlasting bliss - if I was good that is... otherwise - eternal torment in the fires of hell. Message: God is NOT an all loving, all forgiving, all GOOD omnipotent being - God is omnipotent, but he is also vengeful... and by definition then, NOT all loving and all forgiving. THAT right there was where I broke from organized religion forever.

Any being supreme enough to create the entire universe and powerful enough to know and be able to do ANYTHING... it was simply counterintuitive to my belief system that such a being would not also be all loving and all forgiving. Vengeance has NO place in perfection. Let me say that again: Vengeance has NO place in perfection. One is anathema to the other, and counterintuitive. You see, spirituality merely says, "believe". Religion says, "believe THIS, or ELSE". According to organized religion (as opposed to spirituality), part of being good was buying the package whole, the entire catechism. One was not allowed to pick and choose. Doubts were NOT admitted. Call any part of the system into question, and the whole thing was in danger of coming apart, because really, none of it was based on any evidence that might impress a scientist, a court of law, or for that matter, even a reasonably skeptical CHILD! People are told nothing in church about the anthropological foundations of religion, comparative religion, or the terrible atrocities and genocides that had been perpetrated in the name of our triumphalist faith. Nothing was said of the abominable behaviors of Renaissance popes, or the egregious materialism of the Vatican. It was never suggested that one might live ethically without the threat of hellfire, or that the tendency toward altruism might be part of the genetic make-up of every human being. I'm sorry, but no one is going to sell me eternal bliss down the barrel of a gun.

Here's something else to consider: Idiosyncratic belief systems that are shared by only a FEW people are usually regarded as delusional. Belief systems which are JUST as irrational but which are shared by MILLIONS of people are called "religions". We hanker for the unseen world of powers and spirits because we are frightened. But if the promise of a life of religion is to have maximum drawing power, it is essential for Church and guru to undermine the legitimacy of science. The fact that so many millions of people in this country take LITERALLY what is written in the bible and what they are told about creationism and Adam and Eve, and that a female could be impregnated by some other means than sperm from another human being and all the rest of that stuff that is complete HORSE shit, is an embarrassment to me. What so many people fail to see because they have been brainwashed by the establishment of the Church and organized religion, is that all that's necessary is that you believe in a power greater than yourself that set the entire universe in motion (and we know now that the way God did this was by initiating "The Big Bang"), who is all powerful, all loving, and all forgiving, and ..all one has to do.. to end up in everlasting bliss after this life (or these lives) is over, is to simply be a GOOD person! Follow your heart, listen to your CONSCIENCE - that's what it's there for! Man doesn't need some BOOK or some INSTITUTION to tell us what is right and wrong, moral and immoral! That's exactly what God gave us all a conscience for. The human conscience is the final authority on morality - NOT the church!!! I think of the absurdity of something like... oh, say, believing in angels - something which (astonishingly) over 70% of Americans believe in! - and I think to myself: "If I could believe in angels, I could believe in ANYTHING" - regardless of lack of evidence, or even evidence that flies in the face of my theories. Well, I DON'T and CANNOT believe in angels - THANK GOD. =) The evidence for angels is as convincing as the evidence for the Easter bunny, fairies, open-minded republicans, or Big Foot... no, LESS convincing.

Ironically, and almost paradoxically, the only field that comes close to being able to explain the realm of spirituality is in the discipline of quantum mechanics, or quantum theory. I've said all I'm going to here. I've made my point, and I left a road sign pointing in the right direction. I've done my duty for the good of humanity. LoL But the path of spirituality is not one that someone else can walk for you, no more than someone else can eat your lunch for you, or die for you, or hurt for you. It's a realization and an awakening that is inherently personal which must be undertaken by each individual. It is up to you now, the one reading this, to go forth and find out on your own, as I did, what the connections are between spirituality and science: between the mystical, ephemeral, and the wondrous and the field of quantum theory.
