Hello there. My name is David but they call me Zeus for some forgotten reason, which turns out to be convenient , because if you Google "David Henderson" you'll find real estate agents, basketball coaches, and German economists, and, well... just say Zeus. I started writing twisted pop songs in grade school, recording them on a Radio Shack cassette deck. Things have advanced somewhat since then, but I still tend to write songs with happy melodies and whacked out lyrics. Songs about clairvoyant octopi, songs about psychotic ice cream men, songs about insane spaghetti, and more recently, songs about the offbeat life of the pizza delivery boy. I've been the bass-boy in Orange Hat since 1822, and have also played bass with zillions of other Atlanta bands and artists including Wild West Picture Show, Shawn Mullins, Gerard McHugh, Paul Melançon, and too many drunk rednecks to count. If you can find their CDs, buy them! Can't find my CDs? That's 'cause they went out of print in the 1930s. But fear not, they'll be flooding Amazon before too long, right next to my lovely DVD. Did I not mention that? I have a new DVD compilation, Decompositions, with 20 of my homemade songs and videos shot on grainy Super8 film. Every home should have one!
Hey Zeus, I wanted you to know, I found the "Pookie Mooga Head" you made me for my birthday in 1998, while I was in ATL last. Now I get to see it everytime I wake up and go to sleep. PMH rocks!!!
Thanks for the add! Don't forget to check out the free podcasts of Pop Go the Beatles. According Ear Candy Magazine "I can honestly say that Pop Go the Beatles is probably THE best Beatles radio series that I've heard - especially from a Beatle fan's perspective and what THEY would expect from a Beatles show" You can find a direct link to them through the show's website, www.popgothebeatles.com Or just click on the banner below.
Things are going GREAT!! Hope everything's working out for you too. Love your version of "Song For Syd Barrett"...I never did get a copy of that ReNewell CD, dang it. Yeah, keep me posted on what new projects you're working on!!
Hey Zeus!! Thanks for having me on board. I still have that "Zeus Box Set Retrospective" you sent me years ago...and it's still very cool. Also, kudos to whoever is putting the Orange Hat Hour up on YouTube!! That's just great! All the best.
