About me: Zev Haber is a children’s performer and music educator in the Westchester, Long Island, and the Tri-State area. He has been delighting children in concert and at various schools, summer camps and private parties since 1997.
“Children’s music with a different twist!”, Zev taps into his diverse musical experiences to create a blend of music of many cultures and styles. After studying ethnomusicology at SUNY Purchase, Zev traveled to places such as Brazil and Israel to study and experience world music. He is also interested in American folk traditions and instruments such as “Jug bands”, “Bluegrass” and Appalachian folk music “. Zev records and performs using a wide variety of musical instruments, including the banjo, guitar, piano, berimbau and didgeridoo, creating a rich, truly unique form of children’s music. Zev’s songs and dances are loved by children, without sounding overly “childish” to older kids or parents.
Kids of all ages can connect, enjoy and learn with Zev’s songs in many different ways. Whether it’s making animal sounds, hearing a story about a “Dog Who Went Bananas,” or dancing and singing “Ska” to learn about the Jamaican musical style, children will be treated to a musical experience that is interactive, low-pressure, inclusive and fun.
