i miss my complete immersion into musics of many kinds. i don't hear or listen to as much music as other times in my life.
also, i do even less composing, playing, and performing than listening.
someday, someday...
compact discs and vinyl records are wonderful things. i'll be sad to see them fade-away in the wake of file-based media.

i get to do lots of reading during my railroad commute. i also read over my lunch break. i read books (fiction and non-fiction)
annie proulx is probably my favorite novelist and short-story teller. her prose is amazing.
for non-fiction, i like books about language, math, music, and some occasional history.
i often spend much of my reading time reading for class. that means books about compilers and algorithms and finite automata and typing relations.
