The new album is in its way to market very sooooon
Hi everyone, we went through a new project in October 2005. We were preparing for the "7th International Oud Festival" in Tatouan, Morocco. We were trying to participate in this festival and present the Oud in a new band sound.
We mixed the Oud with Piano, Bass and percussions. The experiment went to the extreme. People liked what we've done. When we got back to Beirut we thought of recording the project. We recorded the project in Dec. 2005 with an addition: The Drums.
The musicians put all their energy and experience in this project. They worked very hard to rearrange all the pieces. A new sound born. It is a fusion of Oriental melodies with Afro-Cuban, Flamenco and Funk rhythms and Background.
The musicians are my friends: Jean Madani on Bass, Tarek Yamani on Keyboard, Khaled Yassine on Percussions and Fouad Afra on Drums. We recorded the project in Forward Production Studio, Beirut. The sound engineer was Ghazi AbdelBaki.
We named the project "Beyond Traditions" and it is an Incognito production.
It will be in Market at the end of February.
I hope you will have the chance to listen to it and exchange with me your feedback.

I compose music for theatre, TV and Films.
In 2006, I played in the THE TABADOL PROJECT/USA.
TABADOL is an Arabic word meaning “exchange”. The Tabadol Project brings together US composer and musician Gene Coleman with the Lebanese musicians and artists Raed Yassin, Christine Sehnaoui, Mazen Kerbaj, Sharif Sehnaoui and Ziad El Ahmadie. From Feb. 14th — 28th 2007 they will work and perform with over 50 US musicians and artists in Chicago, Philadelphia, New York, Baltimore, Washington DC. and Ohio University. The project includes workshops, meetings, symposia and concerts that explore our globalized society through experimental music, dance and video.
The Tabadol Project is a production of Soundfield, NFP. Major funding for the Tabadol Project is provided by The Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs of the U.S. Department of State and The Kennedy Center in Washington DC.
In 2006-07, I played in the persian opera A L'OMBRE DU GRAND ARBRE/Genève, Carouge, Paris a score for oud solo chamber orchestra and choir.
