Performed by emerging independent female artist ZIA, (Vocals, Bass, Songwriter) City of Love reached Top 10 in Dance / Electronica at the Music Oz Awards and is being released to radio and retail (Digitally).
ZIA has worked alongside some of the country’s finest home-grown and international talent including Vandalism, Sneaky Sound System and Rogue Traders. She has performed a host of live gigs including Sydney’s The Basement, The East Coast Blues and Roots Festival, Woodford Folk Festival, Girlfest, and Brisbane’s Pride.
The City of Love video clips were shot in Super 8 film, and filmed in a funky retro 70’s style house in West Chermside, Brisbane. The clip features ZIA, a multi-cultural entourage, and framed still photography of famous iconic landmarks of Brisbane, including the XXXX Brewery, the Story Bridge, Kangaroo Point Cliffs and the Judith Wright Centre.
ZIA’s debut release was Underground, which fluttered within the TOP 50 the first 10 weeks of it’s national promotion, and peaked at 29 in the ARIA Club Charts generating repeated spins on specialist dance radio shows Australia wide. Underground reached Top 10 in the International Category in the Music Oz Awards. Underground music video, shot in 32mm by award wining director Stuart Mannion at the historic Allliance Hotel in Spring Hill Brisbane, is currently being distributed in Canada, France, Belgium and Germany via the OzGigs4 DVD.
With brains, beauty and one badass bass, Zia is a veritable talent trifekta. This is exemplified in her second single, ‘City of Love’.
