"Ziggurat" are english singer-songwriters Dave Styles & Steve Verge.
We have been operating as "Ziggurat" in one form or another since the early 1970s. The years between have seen various bursts of activity, but we set-to in earnest again in late 1997. We find ourselves still knocked-out by the same music and with the same enthusiasm for making our own music as we did when we met in 1970 as schoolboys. We continue to write songs and music both individually and collectively. We are a writing and recording unit. Both of us have eclectic tastes, a love of westcountry england and the ability to play a large array of instruments. These factors are reflected in our work.
Steve has worked consistently as a performing musician in folk, jazz, pop, ceilidh, dinner/dance and rock settings whether in bands, duos or solo situations. He has performed on TV, radio and film. Dave has a similarly diverse pedigree and the two of us worked together extensively through the 1970s - at one time part of the seminal US band "Daddy Longlegs". Time, tide and geography made the ensuing years an occasional partnership but we've been back in regular contact and industriously pulling together old and new ideas.
