Welcome to the 12 Followers band page! 12 Followers currently consists of one student songwriter, a humble amateur by profession, working to create music with a direct focus on melody, harmony, rhythm and arrangement instead of style, attitude and all the rest of that nonsense. We (the editorial) don't have much to work with at the moment, just a $100 computer program and some of the best free soundfonts we can find, but we're damn proud of all that we create with it! And we try to do all kinds - electronic, ambient, industrial, acoustic, rock guitar, solo piano, ethnic, western, march, we attempt whatever we can.
12 Followers believes MODESTY is the best policy. We don't try to pretend we're big and bad when the music can't match up to it. And speaking of policy:
12 FOLLOWERS DO NOT ACCEPT EMPTY FRIEND REQUESTS.
We refuse to be simply a number for your friends list. It is a very common practice among Myspace musicians to simply mass-request a load of people to build up a technically large page and attract further attention. Our philosophy is that on of the biggest elements in successful modern music is being able to connect the music (and musician) with the listeners, and therefore a much more personal connection must be made upon impact in order to help create that connection. Therefore we are strongly against Empty Friend Requesting. If you are interested in sending a request, please send a salutation message first. Only request us if you have a genuine interest in who we are and what we do.
And that about sums it up. Whats left is to give credit where credit is due:
PHOTOGRAPH: Our Myspace icon photo is copyrighted to JOHN DOLAN. It is not our official picture in any way and will not appear anywhere else without Mr. Dolan's explicit permission. If he asks us to take it down - we must comply.
BACKGROUND: The Neophyte by Gustave Dore. I think its public domain by now - Dore's been dead for over 100 years. Still, if we must comply, we must comply.

COMING SOON:
12 Followers is working on a full length LP to be completed by the end of the year, or the beginning of the next (2009). Simply titled "KluYa", the introducting record is a focusless mash of whatever the hell we could throw together to sell so we can afford a better computer to do better music.
Thats the basic (honest) version of the description. Officially, we are recognizing this record as a sort of "concept" album based off of Final Fantasy IV. The renowned Lunar Knight KluYa has arrived on the Blue Planet to rid it of the plague of evil caused by Zemus. He journeys and meets the evil, completes the transaction, and becomes a celebrated hero for the people of the Blue Planet. During the celebration in his honor, he completes another transaction with a woman who has fallen in love in with him, but the night he spends with her is plagued with visions of a future where, outside of his own skin, kingdoms fall by fire and innocent people are slaughtered by a knight much.... like.... him. Zemus's evil has entered his body. He leaves early the next morning to journey to Mt. Ordeals and rid his soul of the Zemus's hatred and taint. Back on the moon, his brother FuSoYa, a Lunar Sage and Holy Man, meditates to find an answer. He contacts KluYa and tells him to find Snake Road, as it is the only way to save the planet. KluYa, aware this journey will cost him his life, braves the journey through Snake Road to find the source of the evil - Zeromus. KluYa gives his life to do battle with Zeromus and although he could not rid the world's influence of his evil, Snake Road would carry his spirit to the summit of Mt. Ordeals. From there, he experiences one more vision - his true fate and his role in liberating the Blue Planet from evil. He waits on the summit of Mt. Ordeals for the day when the true hero emerges.
Nine months later, a woman from Mysidia gives birth to twin children. One resembles the dark moon in the sky, the other resembles the Knight that once saved the Blue Planet. She does not live long enough to name the children, but she is aware of their obscure destiny entwined with the two moons, and dies a peaceful death knowing fate is secured for The Blue Planet.
Ok, the plot's pretty hackneyed, but so is every other concept album ever made and it doesn't matter because the 12 tracks present will feature a mix of orchestral and electronic music with a light japanese touch the likes of which you've NEVER heard in your lifetime. Songs with 12 Followers trademark simple chords and dramatic melodies made up of complicated sonic atmospheres will be the soundtrack to your life and save your children from sexual impotence.
Be sure to check back for release dates and prices you surely won't want to pay when you can listen to it for free.

What's up buddy. I'm traveling all around the nation still. Espn college GAMEDAY radio is our new clients so I am at different college campuses each weekend. Fun times
Oh yeah. You have been busy. That's kinda crazy, man.
Real crazy on the epileptic lady. :-P
Glad to hear you're able to make some $$$. I am being dragged into search engine optimization and other related fun stuff. I'm not too thrilled with it all, but again, the money is nice.
So, about how far along are you on the album?
I, for one, have forgotten what done feels like. LOL
I watched Bowfinger today for laughs. Good film. I loved the "Yugo Story" poster hanging on the wall in the background. And Terrance Stamp did a great job as the cult leader guy. (He did good with it in Yes Man, as well.)
How's it goin', Jeff? I've been busting my butt on thesis, but it's finally starting to look like it will be somewhat coherent by the end of the month. It's looking like I'll be able to spin it as a discourse on how we keep the Holocaust rooted firmly in the past instead of making the connection between then and now. Quite beautiful, really. I'll be able to use a little bit of my visit to Schindler's grave. I've got a prospective internship that I'm trying to get. Good times, being busy with school. I guess. LOL
Yeah, I do like what you put out. Outer space sort of vibe. I do see that you don't like bullshit fans and I am not one. As long as you're active I will have something to say.
I need to quit playing and do something quick (but yet good)!
Hey sorry it's been so long writing you back. I'm only ever on here on my mobile device these days. I just went to Brazil for vacation to stay with a friend who studies here. I travelled around visiting my friend's family and other friends, and stuff like that. Nothing really exciting.
I've gotta get my thesis done; that'll be fun. I've got to find some writing-related internship for the spring, much to my chagrin. I'll probably try to look into grad school, too, while I'm at it.
Other than that, I probably won't be up to much. Working around the house and the office a bit, I suppose. I may try to get my make-your-own-adventure-game of college life finished, but I'm not holding my breath. It's a good racket, I suppose.
I've been working for the past few days on cleaning stuff up: room, storage, shed, etc, etc. Turns out I wanted to be an astrophysicist ten years ago, wanted to invent a faster-than-light drive. Aspiring physicist to slightly-cynical English major in only 10 years. Nice. :-) :-)
