Zine, experte en détricotage des fils de la vie, chante le
bonheur à prendre par les tripes et par les oreilles.
Avec un talent dans la provocation affective, elle conte et
raconte....sans jamais donner de réponses toutes faîtes.
Tragédienne humaniste, femme-clown; ses influences musicales nous
emmènent dans de multiples voyages passés et présents tout autour de la
Méditerranée et en Europe Centrale, en passant par l’Amérique du Sud et
par les routes nomades : Zine est une « mosaïque internationale ».
Et sur sa route, elle a trouvé un écho avec Benoît Seyrat (Les
Arbres Qui Marchent), compositeur de musiques électroniques
passionné de sons, illustrateur sonore qui élabore chaque morceau comme
un peintre méticuleux.
Chaque chanson devient alors comme un court-métrage, et la rencontre
nous offre des petits bijoux aux sonorités électros, mêlant polyphonies
et poésie.
Sur scène, ces deux-là emmènent nos sens dans une marmite bouillonnante
d’énergie, à la sauce "pantaï", dont il est difficile de ressortir
indemne....

To our ears, her one-syllable name sounds like a key–note.
Zine grew up in Morocco in her earlier years and then, in the South
of France, in the Occitan speaking area. Now she mingles her twin
origins while including the rest of the world.
Zine creates her own songs where she can express, in turns, marvel
and distress and also joyful frenzy and comical dark sides such as a
clown. To some extent, she is a sort of hot boiling cauldron filled with
generosity, spontaneity and conviction.
Zine has got a paradoxical nature: she can appear at first sight very
old and then very young the next moment, sometimes very dark and
suddenly bright, serious-minded and also with a touch of sweet madness
at times; she is a woman like any woman but unique in her way too. She
knows how to make us feel deeply moved by her songs. Her songs are a
mixture of humour, irony and cynicism and she juggles with words in
French or in the Occitan language.
Zine shows us a feminine perception of reality which is different
from a man’s way of thinking but the two are complementary. In fact, she
dares tell things according to a woman’s point of view to counterbalance
the consensual ideas.
Her songs are a quest to find a universal understanding which refuses
the established ideas and they invite us to respect life, our planet,
women and children.
In her music, she pushes us to follow her in her journeys, in the past
and in the present time, all around the Mediterranean Sea, through
Central Europe and South America: she invites us to wander on her nomad
roads.
Zine offers us a musical, international-rooted mosaic.
Zine is a singer-songwriter from Nice in the south of France. She sings in Occitan (Nissart), combining traditional elements with modern electronic sounds.
