Zion Flex, The Croft, Bristol, 2007
Therefore, I AM called Hermes Trismegistus,
having the three parts of the philosophy of the whole world,
being 1) spirit / Sun HE
2) consciousness / Soul ME ,
and 3) form / Moon HER
and " S " (plurality)
for the myriad "adaptations" and expressions of "The One",
I AM called Hermes

"Zion Flex - Soulful and poetically driven, Zion flex's singing and rapping synergise to create her own unique and beautiful sound ... Influnenced by Jazz, Hip- Hop and old black spiritual songs. An artist that refuses to be restricted and continues to break the mould" GIRL WONDER
"Zion Flex - Smooth, sultry vocal flowing straight from the heart drift above swirling guitars, representing true soul with hypnotic effect" SOUL CLASH
Zion Flex is an accomplished, experienced and versatile vocalist, lyricist and artist. Zion Flex has performed at a range of different events and venues, locally, Nationally and Internationally. She played festivals including Shambala, Bloom Festival and Bristol Vegan Fayre and Marsatac, Marseille. She is currently working on her long awaited demo with her guitarist Tom Mcallister whlist also creating tracks alongside Epic operations, Chalk Mc and Dj Dazee....
Zion Flex started singing at the age of six next to her father at the piano. Her motivation and drive for music has never wavered.
Zion Flex at 16, got into the studio to create a track along side "Roots Manuva" at part to the cr8 project, the song was called "Change the Way". It was through drum and bass that Flex first caught the hip-hop bug. Drum and bass allowed her to freestyle with singing over ambient, jump off and breakbeat . At the age of 18 Zion Flex joined the creative collective "Dutty Girl" an all female hip-hop crew in the south west and was encouraged to start rapping seriously. Flex was a member of "Dutty Girl" from 2005 til 2008. The Name Zion means the "promised Land" so that the "Flex" she is on. Also in 2005 Flex and Tom Mcallister started jamming, swirling guitars along with sultry vocals created the following Tracks "Island" and "When you were Born". Now Zion Flex sings and raps, contantly experimenting hypnotic vocal styles with her rhyme to create synergy between the two styles. Flex's influences span from old Black spirituals, roots music and jazz to trip hop, folk, classical, hip-hop and pop and would not define herself by one genre alone. Zion Flex gathers her inspiration from every aspect of life. Realising the potential of colaboration Flex joins two other crews Project 13 with Chalk MC and Kutlective a group of scratch DJs to increase her skills. In 2008 Zion Flex sets up her own club night "Guillotine" with fellow P13 member Poison to bring musicians from all over Bristol to the UK. To date Zion Flex Performs with Thomas E. Griffin (Ruffage, Leeds) at Marsatac Festival in Marseille connecting Guillotine from north to south.
