I was named Jimi Axis after Jimi hendrix and his album "Axis Bold As Love"by my parents. I have been listening to rock and other guitar for as long as I can remember literaly,being surrounded by music since conception.I began playing piano and guitar at around 5 yrs old.As a young child I fell in love with guitar and a few months later my parents took me on tour off and on with several different bands including the Greatful Dead for 2 yrs(1986-88) where I was literaly immersed in live music of all sorts on a daily basis.Being home schooled and living an alternative lifestlye as a child I was able to truly live as a modern day gypsy and was able to have an intimate relationship with lifestyle as a musician on the road at a very young age.As a result of this upbringing I have dedicated my life to helping protect the alternative lifestlye of musicians,and ending the senceless war on drugs,particularly Cannabis.
I have played on different albums in several different studios from Humboldt county to Haight Street, one of which had reviews in Rolling Stone Magazine ,Musician,as well as other reviews.
I would like to point out that although I love Reggae music and am involved in reggae events,(such as reggae on the river),I would definately not call my musical style limited to Reggae.It is far from that.I enjoy listening to reggae more then any other genre of music,and I do enjoy playing reggae music on my guitar at times as well.But my style is an eclectic guitar style,and my music ranges from Rock/Jazz to psychadelic abstract music,etc.
