Ethnic string instrumentalist, Janos Lehar, comes from a family of zither players from Southern Bohemia in what is now known as the Czech Republic. Janos is the only professional player of the Viennese zither in the UK. As a musician and under various stages names, he has played for Barbra Streisand, Paul McCartney, the Vienna Philharmonic, the Philharmonia Hungarica, the Berlin Radio Symphony Orchestra and the London Symphony Orchestra, as well as for composers Kodaly, Stravinsky, John Barry, Jerry Goldsmith, Georg Kajanus, Maurice Jarre, George Fenton and Bernard Herrmann.
Although the zither is Janos' primary instrument now, he also played the cimbalom, the koto and the kantele on many famous recordings.
Janos is represented by J. Audrey Ellison International Artists' Management.
