    Dale's Interests
General

*Freedom, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness.

*Art (duh) -- mostly of the Sci-Fi/Fantasy genre

*Eyes - pretty ones are addicting!

**** Pointed Ears --- yes! Definitely Pointed Ears!

*Out-there Complex Music (no words - unless they're another language - I don't need some asshole telling me how to think)

*Photography (doing it and looking at others')

*Learning (and Teaching)

*Hiking

*Organic Wholistic Living (so when I go out to eat I can eat greasy hamburgers with extra bacon and not feel guilty!)

*Kittens (my weakness!)

*Ponds, streams, waterfalls, smaller bodies of water. Not too impressed with lakes or oceans. Too much of the same thing.

*Prehistoric and tribal survival techniques and bushcraft.

*Subcultures - where true creativity flourishes.

*Extreme Weather/Climatic Conditions - like Thunderstorms, Blizzards, subfreezing temperatures, high winds (OK, not tornadoes), ultra-heavy snows, ultra-heavy rains.

*Evolution - human, animal, geological, planetary and stellar.

*Technological advancements

*Scientific discoveries

*Archeology

*Excel --- what a totally fun program!!!!

Lately I've been listening to these...

  • Me
  • Propellerheads
  • Sounds from the Ground
  • dZihan & Kamien
  • Chick Corea
  • Mahavishnu Orchestra (now defunct)
  • Miles Davis (now deceased)
  • Weather Report (now defunct)
  • Tosca

Check out my PlayList. MySpace finally did something right. I can actually hear some GOOD songs from my favorite bands now. So better cover your ears! I like snaggin' some of this music from MySpace bands - unknowns. There are a lot of geniuses out there that don't get airtime.

Movies
TelevisionHmmmmmmmmm - ain't watched none since September '07. Maybe DemocracyNow.org
BooksNon-Fiction, "Dragons of Eden", "Messiah's Handbook" (which I can't find anywhere anymore but a friend loaned to me that basically says if something pisses you off it's because you choose to be pissed off about it. Great little book!), "Broca's Brain", "Back to Eden", "Diet for a Small Planet", "The Strawbale House", "Earthship I, II, and III", a couple Stephen Hawking books, "Jungle" (Upton Sinclair), "Silent Spring" (Rachel Carson),"The $50 and Up Underground House Book", Mike Ohler.
HeroesSpock - mainly - , then Michael Reynolds, Euell Gibbons, Scott and Helen Nearing, Stephen Hawking, Miles Davis, Gandhi, that .01% of the world who are actually technologically and culturally advanced (The rest of us just know how to push buttons), pretty much everybody at TED.com

About me:

I have a full time career and a huge list of hobbies (see interests to the left) that absorb the rest of my time. So I'm always busy and never bored.

All my Sci-Fi/Fantasy Art is on my website ---

DaleZiemianski.com

You might see more if you just do a Google Search for Dale Ziemianski (spell it right). I'm all over. Published bunches of times internationally.

MySpace deleted me once for my art, but this time I'll just cover up the naughty bits with a big fat "Censored by MySpace" sign. I posted some below.

I also have a Music MySpace. I write my own music on my computer and put it all up their. (It's kinda 'out-there').

I love being surrounded with nature -- the sounds, smells, changing lighting. Winter's really nice in the woods. Quiet - except for the sound of a campfire. Fall is my favorite, though.

I wake up every day in a good mood and anxious to learn something.

I eat organic/vegan as often as I can, saving my red meat, bacon, and other artery-clogging goodies for special occasions when I go out to eat so I can have a great time and still keep healthy. No reason to be a fanatic. I'd rather enjoy life.

I love primitive stuff, tribal art, bushcraft, and things made from nature. I know about 40+ wild edible plants and a bunch of wild edible mushrooms.

I love hiking, backpacking and camping, walking all day and exploring new, hidden habitats. I feel most at ease and in touch with reality when I'm deep in the woods.

Check out my cousin Jeannie's handcrafted filigree jewelry. This stuff belongs in Lothlorien!

AWESOME! I really want to go to FaerieCon but have the same issue - it's on the other side of the country! LOL www. FaerieCon. com - there should be a section on becoming a vendor.
If you have any questions about the event at all, visit Lisa Steinke's page (my top friends) she vends every year and occasionally needs someone to split a booth with! ;)

Why thank you! :) Eyes have always been one of my favorite things to draw! FaerieWorlds is definitely worth the trip - especially for a fantasy artist such as yourself. It's put on by Imaginosis - Robert Gould and Brian Froud's company! They do FaerieWorlds in Oregon (August) and FaerieCon in Pensylvania (October) and for the first time they will be doing a Good Faery/Bad Faery Masquerade Ball in Oregon in January! I'm buying my tickets today and am STOKED! They've been talking about adding 2 festivals - one in Arizona and one in the MidWest somewhere. So be on the lookout for it! I'm hoping to be able to have my own booth for my wings next year! In the meantime...check out www. faerieworlds. com - might be worth your while.
