FREE CULTURE: How Big Media Uses Technology and the Law to Lock Down Culture and Control Creativity' by Lawrence Lessig - this is the ..best.. non-fiction book i ever read. go download it here. This book gave me new insight into what i already tell people about the industry and the future of technology.

About me:

This is my personal myspace, so if I don't know you, and you don't really want to get to know me, please add Metal Underground's Myspace Page. instead, especially if you are looking for some promotion for your band. Feel free send me a message if you want me to check out your band or for other inquiries.

I am currently booking bands for local shows in the Northern NJ and New York City area. No band too small, no band too large! My intent is to put on a good show with a good positive crowd. It isn't money, but those are nice perks. The venue and bands are paid before I'm paid. You don't have to bring in a minimum draw to play the show or get paid, but knowing how much you draw is helpful in placing you on a show at an appropriate sized venue. I am looking to help bands expand their fan base. You won't be playing with singer songwriters if you play metal. If you are interested in being booked, feel free to contact me through myspace. I am an audio engineer with years of experience behind me and a graduate of The School of Audio Engineering (SAE) in NYC. I have also have a bedroom mixing studio which features professional quality near field monitors for accurate mixing, Pro Tools, Logic, and reaper. I also have affiliations with various studios of all sizes in the NJ/NYC area for recording and access to vintage outboard gear.

My rates are as follows:
Pre-production: $50 per session (1 free session if I am hired to record and mix the album)
Recording: studio rate + 100 per day
Mixing: 100 per song
Mastering: 25 per song
At the beginning of pre-production of a project I expect there to be 50% of the total budget allotted for the project to be paid up front. if you do not have the money, i will not start until you do. This money is to show your commitment to the project. This money will also be used to reserve studio time, so it is crucial that I get this at the start of the project. Message me on aim (zmetallica) for more details and samples of my work or to negotiate deals for smaller/larger projects.

In addition to Audio Engineering I promote/book bands and work for Metal Underground, a metal news, reviews, interviews, and band database site. Message me if you want to get your CD reviewed by either me or another member of Metal Underground. Subscribe to our RSS feed here.

Who I'd like to meet:

People in the music industry. Especially bands who want use of my services.

I like to work with people who are honest. I'd rather hear what you really have to say than not hearing it at all and I hope to meet people with that same view. I am very honest and won't hide my opinions about something even if it's negative. Of course I'll say it in a nice way and make sure that person gets what I mean. This ties into production very nicely too.

Thanks for being our friend and supporting Metal Blade Records artists RAVAGE. We are headed to New York City to play a FREE show at The Lit Lounge in the East Village this Monday May 4th, for a special show featuring Dan Nelson (the new singer of ANTHRAX) as metal DJ, as well as performances by Rumplestiltskin Grinder and Hull. We hope to see you and many of our other New York area friends there! Show starts at 8 - RAVAGE at 8:30! Spread the word! Support US underground trad metal and thrash! Look for the new full-length Ravage album 'The End Of Tomorrow' (featuring 11 original tracks, a cover of Judas Priest's classic "Nightcrawler" and artwork by the one and only Ed Repka) coming this August from Metal Blade.
    RAVAGE IN PEACE!!!
