Webcomics: xkcd and Ctrl Alt DelI have been recording and mixing since 1999. Worked at MAGfest 3 held in October 2004. Most recently: I was an Apprentice/A2 Monitor Engineer @ (le) Poisson Rouge in NYC Graduate of SAE
Promoting bands online and at shows since 2000. Made a few compilation CDs. Currently work with Metal Underground to promote bands through posting news, conducting interviews and reviewing their CDs. In the process of becoming a booking agent...
Recording and mixing since 1999 and graduated SAE. Worked with (for recording and pre-production) artists such as: Evil Adam, Erosian Exile, Severed, and Grey Silence. Used Neve 88R, SSL G+, O2R, Studer, Pro Tools HD, Nuendo, Logic, Reason.
I am currently booking bands for local shows in the Northern NJ and New York City area. No band too small, no band too large! My intent is to put on a good show with a good positive crowd. It isn't money, but those are nice perks. The venue and bands are paid before I'm paid. You don't have to bring in a minimum draw to play the show or get paid, but knowing how much you draw is helpful in placing you on a show at an appropriate sized venue. I am looking to help bands expand their fan base. You won't be playing with singer songwriters if you play metal. If you are interested in being booked, feel free to contact me through myspace. I am an audio engineer with years of experience behind me and a graduate of The School of Audio Engineering (SAE) in NYC. I have also have a bedroom mixing studio which features professional quality near field monitors for accurate mixing, Pro Tools, Logic, and reaper. I also have affiliations with various studios of all sizes in the NJ/NYC area for recording and access to vintage outboard gear.
My rates are as follows:
Pre-production: $50 per session (1 free session if I am hired to record and mix the album)
Recording: studio rate + 100 per day
Mixing: 100 per song
Mastering: 25 per song
At the beginning of pre-production of a project I expect there to be 50% of the total budget allotted for the project to be paid up front. if you do not have the money, i will not start until you do. This money is to show your commitment to the project. This money will also be used to reserve studio time, so it is crucial that I get this at the start of the project.
Message me on aim (zmetallica) for more details and samples of my work or to negotiate deals for smaller/larger projects.
In addition to Audio Engineering I promote/book bands and work for Metal Underground, a metal news, reviews, interviews, and band database site. Message me if you want to get your CD reviewed by either me or another member of Metal Underground. Subscribe to our RSS feed here.
I like to work with people who are honest. I'd rather hear what you really have to say than not hearing it at all and I hope to meet people with that same view. I am very honest and won't hide my opinions about something even if it's negative. Of course I'll say it in a nice way and make sure that person gets what I mean. This ties into production very nicely too.
