Interests

  • General

..Photography, writing, hiking, travel, skiing (water and snow), exploring the unbeaten path, dancing (hey, on occasion... it's been known to happen), sci-fi/fantasy and genre conventions (Dragoncon, Comic-con, etc. they're a hoot), outdoorsy stuff, indoorsy stuff, cruising bookstores, playing hide 'n seek with culture at museums, eclectic cafes, and seeking out new adventures to get involved in. I'm pretty well read and still manage to suck up information like an eager sponge. I love history and enjoy seeking it out (ruins and artifacts). I also enjoy typing... yeah, not sure why that's true, but the actual, physical action of typing. That has to say something about me.... Oh, yeah... and, of course, college football. Specifically Florida State University.

  • Music

..I'm all over the place with music and I'm always open for more. Music's always been an important part of my life. I have enough music on my iPod to allow me to drive across the country and halfway back without repeating a song (and, even more telling, I know to words on most of those songs!). There's not one genre of music that I can say doesn't have something I like. Rap to rock to blues to classical to electronica to.... Now, it's not to say I like everything in each genre or, even, most things, but I do appreciate it. And I do sing along with songs, especially in the car, so get used to it. I'm not very shy about it (fortunately my voice doesn't cause ears to bleed).
  • Movies

..A wide range of movies. Everything from "Cross Creek" and "Looking for Bobby Fisher" to "Matrix", "Tremors" (the first four), "Lord of the Rings" (all three) and so on so on. Also a lot of the Asian action adventure films as I tend to write a lot of female characters such as those.
  • Television

..Strangely enough, my TV viewing has taken a hit as of late. But I do enjoy Entourage, Californication and some other televisual feasts.
  • Books

..Mostly, I have to say, I read non-fiction. This is really more of a function of my lifestyle and what I do for a living. Non-fiction books are easy to pick up and put down, science, history, first person accounts, etc. Fiction... not so much. And as I write for a living, getting involved in a protracted fiction is a bit problematic.
  • Heroes

..People who fight for others. People who fight for the rights of others even when those rights don't affect them whether others have them or not. Anyone who steps forward when others won't. People who do good for the sake of good, not because of some threat of a firey afterlife or the promise of a heavenly carrot. People who have conviction in themselves, but caution in their pride. Heroes are all around us, fighting every day. They aren't always celebrities. Most of the time, we don't even know their names. But they don't care, that's not the point or motivation for them. Chances are, in some way, you've been a hero. Heroes rarely want to be heroes.

Networking

  • I'm a writer/producer and have been working in Television for the last 20 years or so. A lot of different series, some famous, some infamous.

  • Hobbyist, mostly. Sold a few things and I have a load of photos in my archives. Many of them celebrity photos which may be published at some point. A few available through creationent.com (in the Xena and Lord of the Rings sections).

  • Written a few screenplays, sold a few things, but most of my work is in television. Never really had an interest in moving from TV to the screen, though I've been writing more screenplays as of late.

****ANNOUNCEMENT FOR THOSE WANTING TO JOIN MY "FRIENDS" LIST:**** Because of the abuse of the "friends" system, I'll make it simple. NO ONE BECOMES A "FRIEND" unless they send me a personal note requesting it. Nothing involved, just something personal so I know you’re real. ‘K? Okay, now, to who I am. I work in the creative end of film and television. Done a few fantasy based series. Managed to make a living of it so far. Yeah, yeah, I'm in the "Hollywood" thing, though anyone who met me would hardly know it. Traveled a lot and intend to do a lot more. Hmmm... Bios like this always seem a bit self absorbed (which, I guess, is the intent). Okay, so I was born in Georgia into a military family and, as a result, we traveled all over the place. I've been told I have a very blue collar, "settled" aura... until you know me for five minutes. In reality, I'm very liberal and extremely open. I speak my mind, but I'm not blunt for the sake of showing how honest I can be. Jeez... a lot of words to describe me. Popeye says it best: "I yam what I yam and that's all that I yam." So consider me a yam.

Who I'd like to meet:

I have a lot of acquaintances, but a handful of truly close friends. I'm always open for more, but on the internet, that's a difficult thing to hit without a lot of interaction.

I'm also on twitter, Lord knows why...

    Hey Steve!
I've been INCREDIBLY busy, so I haven't had much time to drop a line to anyone. Below is my latest work; I'm in the middle of two portrait projects now. If you wish to comment on it, head on over to my blog. I hope all is well.

Hi, my husband is getting better, just need more therapy for his speech and memory. His 2 friends from work is visiting right now and playing poker with him. His speech gets better the more he talks to other people. He gets tired easily after walking around book stores (looking for the wizard magazine) or the mall but he needs the exercise. Tomorrow he wants to see the movie Transformer 2 at the mall and tuesday a friend is taking him to the beach for more exercise. I'm sure he will be ok. Saturday we're going to comic con just for a couple of hours, we might bring a wheelchair for him. My daughter and her BF will drive us there. Maybe we'll see u 2 there.

Hi, here's my new comic con costume.

I made this today. It was easy and fun to make. This costume was from the Star Trek episode Mirror, Mirror, the evil universe.
