"TEARS IN HEAVEN"
All the Funds raised from the download of this
song from iTunes goes directly to the charity
"Downside Up" helping Downs Children in
Russia who are forgotten and neglected!!
14 year old Zoë started her singing
career at the tender age of nine when
she recorded her first CD “Little Ray of
Light” in October 2004, to raise funds
for the New Oxford Children’s Hospital,
as a token of gratitude to the doctors
and nurses who had looked after her
sister Jodie. Jodie was born with
Downs Syndrome and a heart defect
and due to have open heart surgery
on 2nd March 2005. The album was
released on 8th November throughout
Zoë’s hometown of Oxfordshire; she
was even invited to sing live on
GMTV! All 5,000 copies sold in just
5 weeks raising a staggering £27,000!
After the success of her first album
Zoë wanted to record a second album
to raise funds for The Downs Syndrome
Association, which she named
“Songs For My Sister”.
Plans were made to record this album
in Zoë’s Easter holidays, just after Jodies
heart operation. Unfortunately, Jodie
did not survive her heart operation
and passed away on 2nd March 2005.
Zoë and Jodie had the most incredible
bond; they were devoted to each other.
Zoë cared for her sister like a parent
cares for their child, nothing was too
much. Just 4 weeks after the tragic and
unexpected death of her sister, Zoë
recorded “Songs for My Sister” making
this a tribute to Jodie.
“Songs for My Sister” was released
nationwide in the UK on 6th June 2005
in conjunction with Downs Syndrome
Awareness Week. Zoë returned to
GMTV on that day to officially launch
the album and the immediate response
was huge!
Six days after the release date Zoë’s
album reached No 2 in the Solo Classical
UK artist charts and No 5 in the Classical
Charts!
Zoë has performed in many professional
charity shows alongside many celebrities
a soloist with the The Royal Marines
and on Sunday 18 June 2006 at The New
Theatre in Oxford hosted her first ever
show "Zoë Mace & Stagecoach Charity
Spectacular” selling 2,500 tickets and
raising £20,000 for charity.
In the last 3 years Zoë’s fund raising
efforts have been rewarded by many
organisations and she has been named
Fox FM Radio’s Local Hero,
Mencap Young Person of the Year,
ITV Central Television Local Hero,
The Year of the Volunteer Award"
from the CSV charity
and Argos Wavemaker Award
for raising in excess of £120,000.
Zoë's first love will always be music
and as well as singing she plays the
piano and the drums and writes her
own songs and lyrics. But school
work is very important to this 13
year old who is an Allen academic
scholar at Cokethorpe School in
Witney, Oxfordshire. Zoë's ambitions
are to continue to sing and perform
as well as attend university to study
music, English Drama and Mathematics!
19th November 2007 saw the release
of Zoë’s third album titled
“Once upon a time”
produced by Andy Whitmore.
“Once upon a time” features some
of the worlds best loved songs including
a duet with one of the premiere singers
in the classical crossover world Geoff
Sewell. New Zealander Geoff is one
of the founders of “Amici forever” who
sold many hundreds of thousands of
albums worldwide and their
performance together on “Time to
say goodbye” is simply stunning!
Zoe's diary continues to grow with
sell-out performances, but school
always comes first!
Zoe is currently writing her own
material, exploring new and exciting
music styles as well as mantaining
her voice coaching whilst it rapidly
matures.
This week is the week of LENA ZAVARONI. On October 1, 1999 (10 years ago) she died. It's like the whole world has forgotten her, but I will never forget. Just click on the banner, you can read her BIO and you can even hear her songs. I wish you all a great listening and viewing pleasure.
Your very welcome. You are definitely going to have a bright future. Your are growing into a very lovely woman. Good luck and best wishes to you! God bless!
Hi Zoe it's been so long since I made the effort to pop by and say hi. How are you? I hope all is well and things are still going great with your music which I'm sure they are.
It's been a long time since I checked up on you, and I know from friends that you are doing really well. I must check everything out when my computer at home is working. Can't look at your home page when I am work.
Any way I hope you are keeping well and looking after that wonderful voice, the voice of an angel.
Charlie! Wow~ I like this name.He must be very gentle and obedient. I want to keep a pet one day. My mom didn't let me do it. She doesn't hate the pet but She doesn't have time to help me to clean or feed my dog when I have to go to school from 7a.m to 5 p.m. Because she is a teacher so she is busy, and so does my father. I'm busy having a lot of tests to enter the university so I think I will keep a pet later. In Taiwan, the students like me, have to stay at school from 7a.m to 9:30p.m .We have to study all day long~ Anyway, have a good week!!
