But before I get into all of that… let me just tell you a little bit more about myself…”

My partner, Mark Wyatt and I are Home Business Mentors and Network Marketing Guides.

We live on the beautiful Sunshine Coast, about an hour's drive north of Brisbane in Queensland, Australia. We work our Business from home around the youngest two of our five children (yep – 5!).

I started our Multi Level Marketing business in March 2003. At that time we were struggling to make ends meet after Mark had lost control of his own Company (that he had put 12 years of blood sweat and tears into). Mark was a Communications Technician and I was a Marine Biologist.  I had moved from working with Government agencies to working as a consultant from home just to be “there” for my children.

Initially I was just looking to make an extra $1000 per month so we could pay the bills without tears.  When I discovered the Network Marketing opportunity, I got really excited and seriously “got to work”.

Mark was incredibly negative to start with but this just made me more determined.  It was after my initial success that Mark decided he "wanted in" on our Home Business.

In my first two years in Network Marketing I built up a residual income of over $5,000/month but then the growth stopped.

I continued to diligently do everything my upline told me to do but our income started going backwards.  At first I couldn’t understand why – I had a fantastic Mentor and upline that, I was sure, had my best interests at heart (after all they only made money if I did) and I was partnered with an incredible company with products that had proved life changing for me.

So I just kept doing what I had been doing to grow my business – over and over and over and over again.

 I put out thousands and thousands of flyers, I spent hundreds of dollars each month on leads and called them (which I hated!), I ran expensive magazine and newspaper ads, I used pay per click and other online advertising, I kept adding to my ‘list’ of every human being I had ever had contact with (and devised a way to contact them), I had our website and company logo all over me, my kids and our cars. 

You name the method of building a traditional MLM business – I DID IT!

Then I realized that the way I was building my business was not only ineffective but also too expensive for my team to duplicate and most of them were not prepared to do what I was doing. 

I saw good people joining our team only to quit within the first year after battling just to make back their initial investment. Most were quitting with less money than when they started their business.

We just kept going backwards and then things got out of control.  We were living on our credit cards and just kept racking up the debt.  We kept spending more and more in our business with the belief that we would be rewarded in the long term.  You know – the “delayed gratification” that is drilled into everybody in multi level marketing.

We also had both come out the wrong side of divorces and inherited massive personal debt in the process.  That was dragging us further and further down.  Rather than working on diminishing this debt we created more of it in an attempt to grow our business.

Instead of the slow and steady path to wealth we were on the fast track to financial DISASTER!

So what had happened?  How did our initial success turn so sour? And why were we in such a mess financially?

When I stood back and took an objective view of our business I realized –

THE MARKET HAD CHANGED.

Where once I could just throw a few hundred dollars at an internet ad and sign up distributors, I was flat out getting a reply.  When the marketing costs are more than the return you receive your business goes downhill fast.

As a leader (and a bit of a ‘Mother Hen’ to be honest) I went in search of a method of building a Network Marketing Business that our team could duplicate without spending themselves into the poor house and without fear of rejection from their family and friends.

What I discovered was the incredible World of Attraction Marketing.

This “New” Attraction Internet Network Marketing Model is quite simply just a better “Business Model”.  The model works on the smart business principle of providing value to the Market Place so that you become “attractive” to others seeking to do what you are doing (or looking for the products that you offer).

We started working in this new Attraction Marketing model and harnessing the power of Web 2.0 and social networking websites.  Boy what a difference!

Not only did our cash flow start moving in the right direction – but I started enjoying myself again. 

I’ve stopped handing out flyers, putting up pull tabs, doing demonstrations and harassing everyone that gets within three feet of me!  I no longer do cold calls – I don’t chase anyone.

We now have prospects coming to us, calling us, emailing us, on a daily basis wanting to do what we do. 

Most exciting is the fact that, even if these prospects don’t join our Network Marketing Business, we still earn money!

Take marketing on MySpace for example.  I always thought that MySpace was only for little kids… but then the training in our new marketing system completely opened up my eyes and now I’m starting to see that, yes, you really can get free *TARGETED* leads who are excellent prospects for your business using MySpace.
