It is on Paranoimia alone that you will hear selections of unlikely musical bedfellows such as The Clash, Fats Domino, The Tiger Lillies, The Slits, Carmen Miranda, The Raincoats, Joy Division, Elvis Presley, Pistols, Iggy Pop, The Andrews Sisters, The Fall, Art Of Noise, Carlos Gardel, Lee Dorsey, King Tubby, Blurt and many more tunesmiths one might not normally think would sit together comfortably... And there's new stuff too, before you ask.
A little about moi: Born amid piles of vinyl, this London-based music journalist-turned-pirate radio DJ was destined to bring the strains of classic punk, rockabilly and new wave back to the fore - when Zoë was born she was crowned with the title 'Punk Baby' thanks to her natural yet alarmingly perfect mohican (plus mandatory safety-pin in nappy).
After a childhood spent largely with headphones on, sifting through her former rock DJ dad's record collection. she proudly received a letter from Doctor and the Medics at the age of 6, telling her she was their youngest fan.
Fast-forward to now and we find her scribbling rock reviews and features for all and sundry, and unleashing regular blasts of carefully selected punk, new wave, blues, hepcat swing and dubby ska onto internet radio station the Album Zone.
More important than any of this? Her amazing husband Dylan Howe - jazz drummer and Blockhead extraordinaire - who sometimes compiles a cheeky playlist for the show

So in a nutshell, keep in touch, subscribe to the blog or do whatever you see fit to keep abreast (ooh, I said 'breast'...) of when and where you can listen to the show! Hello. We are driving into doing things better and to make something beautiful for the generation. Imagine we're in a room. A colourful spell-binding, room with the circus, books, football, chess, movies and a million things to fire our imagination. Everything else, all the rubbish culture, is in the other room. The stories about Peter and Jordan, about what Posh Spice is wearing, X-Factor, 80s throwbacks and every skinny-jean indie boyband from the last 5 years. We're simply going to put life into this generation. Just come into the next room. It is a shift. But an easy one when thought about like this. Just create a world for ourselves. Full of being young and smart but also loving football, chess, movies, art, books through a love of it instead of just for fashion. You dont have to be dumb to be cool. This is a lost generation full of beautiful souls and we're going to win out with ideas and optimism.
