As a producer Zoë Xenia creates a hybrid of rolling bass, mysterious soundscapes and funked-up beats. As a singer she uses her voice not only as vocal, but instrument itself, keeping her firmly on the avante-garde tip. "I like to improvise and try things with my voice, it's an instrument I carry everywhere; like recording myself having the hiccups, and making some fine rhythms with it."
Zoë's first EP was released on ArtMiniMal in Spring 2007, followed by a release on Organised Music and an invitation to play at WMC Miami. In October 2007 her track Cherish on Connaisseur recordings became house tune of the month in the November 2007 issue of Mix Mag, got an excellent review in De:Bug and was played endlessly by artists like Tiefschwarz, Mike Monday, Miss Jools, 3 Channels and Fabrice Lig.
In may her solo Uncovered ep came out on Connaisseur and she appeared on their Grand Cru 2008 with the track Forever, which was picked out as one of the highlights of the album in Mixmag's June 2008 issue.
Zoë recently signed up with Kosmo Records for an album deal and her first single is about to be released soon with remixes from Kid Massive, Jerome Ishmae, Tom Novy a.o.
Also a fresh new release is planned on D'julz's new label BassCulture with a remix from Damian Schwartz
Apart from producing her own music, Zoë Xenia also worked as a vocalist for other artists. Pacha Recordings invited her to come to Ibiza and record vocals for Richard Grey. The track Unchain it will be released on the 1st of December on Pacha Recordings. She also did vocals & lyrics for the track Dirty Games on Dub Taylor's Humatron album which just came out on Opossum Recordings.
Advancing and refining what electronic music can be, collaborating with different artists and life itself, are the inspiration for what Zoë does. Equally important is how she brings that to the dancefloor. On stage she has remarkable presence. With her powerful, soulful voice, and her ability to produce sounds as if from another planet, she weaves together a hypnotic, ecstatic experience for the listener; an exchange of energy that dissolves boundaries, where music becomes a universal language.
Zoë Xenia supports Dance4life, the organisation that devotes itself to inform youth about Aids and HIV prevention, using dance and music as a medium
to get the youth involved with HIV and aids problematic.
An absolute highlight was her performance for Dance4life at Gelredome stadium, singing from a high pillar before the immense crowd drawn for the event.
Last year she recorded a track with Jesse Voorn called SeeMe, which was the official anthem for the first SeeMe Music Conference in Sofia Bulgaria.
