"Its deadly my rappin, I'm a hip-hop assassin"

Part Pam Ayres, part Tom Cruise, part Toto Coelo, Zoid acquired some cardboard boxes from behind Burtons in 1984 and spent that summer breakdancing. 10 years later he became the driving force behind 'probably the 3rd best hip hop act in Birmingham'. Zoid's favourite rapper is "John Barnes in 'The Anfield Rap'. Technically, his performance with New Order in 'World In Motion' is more accomplished, but the way he riffed off Bruce Grobbelaar just blows me away".

"You can't touch me when I'm in the zone
Just give me a rhythm , a microphone."

Part Gordon Kaye, part Brad Pitt, part Belouis Somme, Tha G's uniquely laid back rapping style has been described as 'Snoop Dogg with piles'. Tha G's favourite rapper is "Pliers out of 'Chaka Demus & Pliers' in their version of 'Twist And Shout'. His performance is so electrifying that in 10 years from now, I'd be suprised if anyone will remember that this song was once performed by The Beatles."

"Back in the Time when the Beats were Fresh" REVIEWED!
Chris Martin wrote that "God put a smile on yer face", well it took Zoid and Krom to put the smile on my face. Two decades since Zoid and Krom laid down "Anialate" - they once again return. This time with more beats than an electric egg whisk, more verses than a bible reading, and more bass than the Iranian nuclear programme. "Back in the Time …" hits a perfect balance between hip-hop and pop. Opener "Fly" has the feel of "Snap's" "I've got the power" but without the crap lyrics. "Two Thousand & G" and we realise we're still dealing with a group that doesn't take itself too seriously. Zoid and Krom have got two tracks listed for listening on My Space, which criminally does not include the best on the album, "Youth of Today". The samples on this track rivalling anything done by Public Enemy. Track 4 is "Tha G's" tale of Love's Labours Lost, as we go on his journey through "Nancy", and beyond. Next up is homage to homosexuality "Da Mic". In the good old days "Get Tighter" would have been a 7-inch. It's catchy and direct, a real statement of intent. "Still Zoid" is the 2nd best track on the album, a perfect combination of bass and vocals. As the album heads towards it's glorious finale we are treated to a slice of R'n'B-esque sleaze on "Do you like it like this?". Penultimate track "Potential Bass Area" is also available for listening on My Space. This ones a typical Zoid and Krom hip-hop track, complete with infectious bass. The album closes with the hardest track on the album "Pushing Phat Beats across the Vinyl". This is Zoid & Krom’s “Fight the Power”, six minutes of old skool flavours underscored by challenging bass. Get this album, and get paid in full. Krom likes to party indeed! 4 out of 5.
