.. Random thoughts about me: South Bronx-born, citizen of the world via Boriken (Puerto Rico) and Panama. Born to a bruja and revolutionary hell raiser... tremenda combinacion. Proud resident of the Boricua satellite village of El Barrio (East Harlem, NY), known to the invading army as "Upper Yorkville" (you believe that? you gentrify the hood and then call it "Upper Yorkville" as if York Ave didn't end on 93rd Street!). I feel things deeply, dream in technicolor, and talk to God/dess on a regular basis. Though I have suppressed it for a long time, I am an artist and feel blessed to have recognized it soon enough to plant seeds. I write songs, poems, essays, stories, monologues and lately, a little film. vamos a ver... I dream freedom and justice, and in my world, there are both. I am reborn with each sunrise, and work humbly to create my own peace and joy. My family is an extended tribe with whom I am blessed to share this journey... I believe we are all born with a higher purpose and though mine hasn't fully come into focus, I've had glimpses, and pray each day for greater clarity. If I've come this far in the dark, then the future can only be blessed. I am compassionate and humane. I will give thanks for each breath and drop of water, til ashes and dust. I love deeply and honestly. I give thanks for every bit of light that blesses my path. I take lessons from every shadow. I don't hate because hate is a poisonous seed, but I definitely detest haters. (Envy and malice can only poison your peace, so let it go!) My other half is a wise, precious soldier who... well, you don't need to know all of that. I am blessed. I love sunshine, rain, seas, mountain tops, full moons, and urban jungles. I wasn't supposed to live this long, so I thank God/dess for each day and remind her that I am supposed to be here until I am at least a full century. My favorite people are sincere, artistic, lovers of life, and of course, a little crazy (like all of us). I believe in revolutionary reflection. Love your people (and yourself), celebrate them (and yourself), and don't be afraid to check them (and yourself). Reflect, release, resolve, and revolutionize yoursef each day. Don't be afraid to be wrong or make mistakes. Mistakes are lessons. Errors are teachers. Dreams and visions are seeds. until we meet again...
