  • Bio

The Zoltans are a Jump-jive band. They hail from Southend-on-sea (a seaside town 40 miles East of London with the longest pleasure pier in the world), Essex, England and are steeped in the repertoire of Louis Jordan, Wynonie Harris and Rent Party. (Zoltan Rick was a founder member of Rent Party playing piano with the band for 2 years before they made it big in the early 1980s. This is the main reason he formed The Zoltans who play much of the early RENT PARTY repertoire plus more Louis Jordan numbers taking the band forward ) They specialise in performing live in front of an audience who are usually motivated towards the bar and then the dancefloor. The "sheer joy" of this music is evident on their faces whilst performing - a joy that is strangely infectious.
