Zona is Jerry Andrews, Dimitri Craven and Angela. Jerry Andrews has been playing guitar, drums, and keys since the age of nine. Jerry's skills as a musician and his eclectic musical background has helped him land soundtrack work for independent films and albums credits on major billboard acts. DJ Dimitri has been singing and writing music for years, and his deejaying experience has made him attuned to what audiences respond to. In addition, his exposure to music from around the world has inspired his vast collection of records which numbers into the thousands.
Jerry and Dimitri's love of hip-hop and electronic brought them together in 1997 as they worked on music for their alternative trip hop group Zumbi. This initial team effort led to future collaborations as they began to write music for soundtracks, commercials as well as producing other artists. Their film and commercial track brought them acclaim in the streets and in the studio.
Angela has been singing all her life. She started sing house music in Chicago, and then moved to L.A. and started singing in a cover bands. Angela also sang blues in Madrid, Spain and opera in NY City. While singing in a show in L.A, DJ Daniel Lamour saw her and introduced her to Zona in 2007. When Angela first got into the studio, Zona knew she was the one they have been looking for.
Jerry and Dimitri just finished a CD with down tempo and house songs. Their house songs are feel good music that makes you want to get on the floor and dance. The down tempo songs are a mixture of moods and sounds layered underneath the hip hop ambient beats some songs with vocals. The song could easily be placed on a Buddha Bar cd or other compilation cds.
Zona creates music which can be described as a combination of electronic, ambient, hip-hop, and alternative which can evoke moody dark yet accessible sounds making it conducive for attention grabbing instrumentation that can be used in commercials and films. Their R & B and hip hop tracks can also be described as accessible for urban and pop radio play.
Jerry and DJ Dimitri have traveled the world from Paris to New York City to gain inspiration for their music and these influences are truly representative of Zona’s sound that is a mix of global and urban rhythms with an edge.

Dutchie 76 comes from Scinner from Russia. Scinner has releases on Grouper and Klam records,so it was special to get him aboard Dutchie. Transfusions is a deep jam with great synths and floaty pads but with enough punch to be played prime time. Great debut for the talented Russian producer. On the remixes we got Diego Astaiza and Krummstoff. Astaiza's mix is dark and deep. The Krummstoff mix is more on the techouse vibe. Great package to start fall !
