Anything weird or new. I love to travel without plans. Just vague destinations then go where the day takes me. I went to London for two weeks with nothing but a plane ticket, a bunch of cash and a toothbrush and it was crazy fun. The highlight had to be this Irish after-hours club a transvestite (I think anyway)pot dealer (I think anyway) pointed out to me. I spent the night dancing with girls I couldn't understand, downing beer so thick I was glad I brought that toothbrush and ducking various thrown objects cuz there was non-stop fighting all night. I had this lucid moment where I just thought to myself, "Bob, you are home" (I'm part Irish). I love to write and to write good you have to love to read. I love to read. I even enjoy reading the fine print on stuff. It's a sickness.
Music
Good writing is the key to good music. It should teach and heal...or take you somewhere you are not but want to be. Like this does:
We All Have A Weakness -
But Some Of Ours Are Easier To Identify - Look Me In The Eye -
And Ask For Forgiveness -
We'll Make A Pact To Never Speak That Word Again -
Yes You Are My Friend -
We All Have Something That Digs At Us -
At Least We Dig Each Other -
So When Weakenss Turns My Ego Up -
I Know You'll Count On The Me From Yesterday -
If I Turn Into Another -
Dig Me Up From Under What Is Covering -
The Better Part Of Me -
Sing This Song -
Remind Me That We'll Always Have Each Other -
When Everything Else Is Gone -
We All Have A Sickness -
That Cleverly Attaches And Multiplies -
No Matter How Hard We Try -
We All Have Something That Digs At Us -
At Least We Dig Each Other -
So When Sickness Turns My Ego Up -
I Know You'll Act As A Clever Medicine -
If I Turn Into Another -
Dig Me Up From Under What Is Covering -
The Better Part Of Me -
Sing This Song -
Remind Me That We'll Always Have Each Other -
When Everything Else Is Gone -
Oh Each Other....
When Everything -
Else Is Gone.
Movies
I'd rather make them than watch them. I like to laugh, especially if it's something dark. Some of my favorite movies are (in no particular order):
True Romance, Heat, Bottle Rocket, Adaptation, Broken Flowers, Eternal Sunshine of a Spotless Mind, Braveheart, Lost in Translation, A Clockwork Orange, Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, V, Sideways, The Doors. Anything I'm in or worked on. Actually that's a joke because almost everything I've ever worked on, even if just for a day, sucks like really bad. I'm the kiss of death when it comes to movies. I've had six scripts optioned and might be getting my seventh shot at fortune here soon. No fame though. Scriptwriters get no respect. If you don't believe me, well then, name five scriptwriters quick. See. You should never doubt me again. But I don't want fame anyway. I'm a tabloid's wet dream. More favorite movies coming soon.
Television
Almost anything on The History Channel, TLC, Discovery, A&E and Bravo. I love The Daily Show and The Corbert Report. They try to keep me sane. I can't stand most commercials so I don't watch a lot. "Head On, apply directly to the forehead, Head On, apply directly to the forehead, Head On, apply directly to the forehead.” God. Could somebody please get me something for the headache that commercial gives me....oh, maybe that's the point? Clever.
Books
Oh Man. There are just too many to list. I just got done reading "Whiteboy Shuffle" (again) by Paul Beatty and loved it (again). Right now I'm reading Kurt Vonnegut's Slaughterhouse Five. Wildly intense and time appropriate. Another really good book I just finished is called "Practicing Peace in Times of War" by Pema Chodron. It was enlightening to say the least. I think I might revisit some of Hunter's stuff. Anything really out there and cutting because that's were I go with my stuff. But like I said somewhere earlier, I will read an damn thing put in front of me.
Heroes
Anyone who lives without fear and/or has courage to stand up for what is right. People who live for the next adventure.

It's a beautiful day...don't let it get away. Words to live by I think. I just moved back to Toledo (I grew up here - EASTSIDE! Can I get a Hell YEAH!) from a ten-year stint living/working in Hollywood and, yes, I have stories to tell. Blowing things up doing special effects for Spielberg and flying all over the world with MTV and that's just the beginning. A land where the sky is the limit and dreamers abound. Before that I was in New Mexico (Santa Fe) for college and, yes, I have stories to tell. Mountain mornings and long walks in the desert. A land with no speed limits nor a sense of conformity. I miss a lot of things about the Land of Enchantment and Southern Cali but I moved back here to look after my folks, which definitely comes first with me. I strive for a life less ordinary and, so far, I think I've done a pretty good job at it.....uhm....I think.
Who I'd like to meet: People who are not idiots. Or people who are idiots but don't believe they know everything about everything and have to tell you everything about everything with obnoxiously strong opinions. Is that to much to ask?
lol! I don't really know what that car was supposed to be...a TC3 or something. My second car was a lame Mustang. But, I was on the right path....check out the third car!!! Oh Yeah!! I loved that Camaro!! Anddddd, before you trash talk my first baby, didn't YOU drive a hearse to school??? LMAO!
Ohh, you know I can't resist the comments!!! Good thing I just went to the Dr and got a patch to keep me from commenting. HA! (It hasn't kicked in yet that's why I couldn't resist this time!!!) :)
Your message made me smile! I've got to get a copy of the Free Press this week! I'm rethinking the pencil sharpener thing now just because you liked it! I've got a coffee grinder too...
Hey turd, why am I not in your top friends yet? Seriously, do I need to kick you in the stitches again or what? Ask my wife, I'm not afraid to hit a woman!!
LOL! I'm selling my answering machine tape to the National Enquirer!! Unless you can give me a better offer then them....you'll just have to find out in the paper! LOL!
