Sounds Like
"Chilling stuff!"-Tom Robinson , BBC 6 Music.
"Very good indeed, I was most impressed"-Stephen Merchant, BBC 6 Music.
"..the tunes sound great!"-Huw Stephens, BBC Radio 1
"Prolific....the master of kitchen sink electronica"-Richard Pitt, BBC Introducing
"Superb, it's fascinating how he's producing this stuff, brilliantly interesting"-Richard Pitt/Gary Smith, BBC Bristol Uncovered.
"...loving 'That Just About Does It', Manson and Sesame Street style melodica...a nice combo! Will be in the next Solid Steel mix" - Robin, Hexstatic
"Great sounds, styles and songs" - Jon Tye, Lo Recordings
"Stupidly good" - CT Remixes
"a curious blend of Four Tet-ish beats with Benbecula-esque hints, lovely!" - Myuzyk Netlabel
"like a boyish Boards of Canada, all shuffling glitches and twinkling electronica" - Mike White, Venue Magazine
"'oddtronica' that lives at the more experimental end of the wide church that is electronica music" - Noize Makes Enemies.co.uk
"It’s like he’s encouraging listeners to put their feet up, but making them do so on a rusty bed of nails instead of a cushion-plumped sofa." - Data Transmission.co.uk
"Gorgeously left of centre vibes - if you like having your feet and brain softly massaged simultaneously, this is for you." 5/5 -Darren Wall, DMC World.com
"What an outstanding start to his career here. I see big things for ZVS"-Jon Kennedy, Modart
"And now for something completely different, with this weird and wonderful
four tracker. If you love it glitchy and
experimental then you'll lap up the Sasha-does-Nathan-Fake style
'Bibliophone'. And if you like it smooth, smoky and vaguely acidic then
'That Just About Does It' should tickle a fancy or two. Check out the
harmonicas - now that's what I call different." (LN) i-DJ magazine
“...nods towards the likes of DJ Shadow or A Guy Called Gerald-but always standing firmly on its own two feet. Impressive and somewhat majestic. An excellent example of fresh, bold and cunning UK experimentalism.”- Ford Waight, N.O.I.R Magazine
"Really like it, gave it a good few listens but can't pinpoint a favourite as they all have strong points."-DJ Food
"In some infathomable way, Alec's sound combines pastoral expansive and laid back melodies with a bustling oddtronica backdrop, comprised of promiscuous samples, choppy and glitchy beats and a healthy dose of freaky field recordings, or rhythm tracks made from everyday objects"-Lodown Magazine
A coffin full of smashed crabs, the ghost of all your sundays past.
"After spending some time smear testing peacocks for the Lebanese government, I realized at the age of 24 that the truth was stranger, that is to say less prevalent, than fiction. I interpreted this to mean that it is fine to lie and subsequently bullshitted my way through the interview and before long they trusted me enough to leave me alone with the bodies!.......prison, is indeed, also stranger than fiction.
A short period of my life was spent as a cartoon tramp in an attempt to try and solve the social issue of 2 dimensional sexual apathy among the flat-less. Up until this point, my life was like a badly written screenplay for a film about fuck all".

The personal failings documented above (Taken from ‘The Chronicles of Zoon’ by T. Mallon) have led to and informed the compositions you are currently listening to. After prostituting his keyboard wares to numerous bands in the South west, 2008 saw ZVS taking bold measures in stepping out alone. A passion for Genre-Spanning melody, field recordings, found sound and electronics combined with the utility of guerrilla techniques (encompassing household objects) has spat ZVS face first into the sphere of criticism in the creation of affably sinister sonic sketches and ambionic audio montage. Currently working or collaborating with Malakai, Canola Tenderfoot, Diego Chavez (Aether, A.M Architect), Ernest Gonzales (Exponential Records) , Toob , Boca 45 , Fujiya & Miyagi , Lost Idol , Dextro
August 18th 2008 saw the debut 12" EP released on Brighton's finest Cookshop Records.
