Jeff (Zoot) Zudek - Guitars
Steel Guitar, Sitar Guitar,
Portuguese 12 String Guitar, Guitar synths
Jeff started playing guitar at age 5 and played to the Woodstock and Tommy albums daily at age 7. Growing up he listened to and played classical, jazz fusion, classic rock blues and mostly progressive rock. Groups such as Pink Floyd,Frank Zappa, Yes,,Jethro Tull, Queen, ELP, Kansas, King Crimson to Allman Bros. Greatful Dead,Jimi Hendrix, etc. were just some of his influences. He started gigging at age 12 and at 16 was gigging 6 nights a week with local, much older, well know musicians. He attended a music and performing arts high school (Education Center of Arts) and went to Berklee College of Music. In the early 80's he developed a very unique 2 man show (with a drummer) which gained him noterioty and gave him his nick name "Zoot". It featured his "Zudephonics" in which he was one of the first in the country to play the newest state of the art guitar-synth modules, Moog Taurus bass pedals, with midi-synth pedals mounted on top of them and a combination of his own custom pedals with his feet, keyboards with the head of his guitar and vocals and all the time using "No Sequencers"or pre-recordings. Viewing his unique performances of things such as Pink Floyd's "The Wall" and "Wish You Were Here" albums to ELP's "Karnevil 9" and "Fanfare For The Comman Man" plus many original compositions with just 2 guys, left a memorable experience for anyone who saw those shows. Jeff has also performed with Al Dimeola and opened for many nationaly touring top artists (Styx, Ted Nugent,Joe Perry Project, Talas). He has toured in the United States and all over Asia.
In 1991 he formed "Fragile - The Classic Yes Show" which performed until 1994 when the band played its grand finale performance at Yesfest 94. During that time Jeff developed a friendship with Steve Howe along the way and ended up owning some of Steve's actual instruments that were used on various Yes albums. He also went on to perform in a Jethro Tull tribute band Beggars Farm) and another Yes tribute band (Yesterdays) while still working on many original music projects as well as producing and filming a rare documentary in the Philippines which partly aired on HBO and Discovery channels. Having his own studio he has done many recordings of all styles of his own music and also performed on other peoples recordings. Because of the way magazines like "Relix", the internet , Sirius Satelite radio's Jam On 17 station, and other new media has kept the Jam Band scene alive , the last few years Jeff has been able to enjoy concentrating on something he always loved doing since day 1, the freedom of performing improv jamband music. He now keeps himself available to play with verious projects one of which is the Allman Brothers Tribute Band - "Brothers of The Road Band" so check out www.Brothersoftheroadband.com and www.myspace.com/shazjams
