For those of you waiting for new music I'm still working on it. ***As a musician..to hear yourself 'On The Radio' for the first time..especially in a car, is just huge. I had that opportunity last summer when Tide Radio, 92.3 in Williamsburg VA had my song 'Room To Fall' on their playlist. They booked a show for me there and my manager Ari and I drove to the gig..The kind folks at the radio station told us I was going to be on the air between 3:30 & 5:00. So we pulled over and sat there and waited and listened and sure enough.. right after Jackson Browne's 'Doctor My Eyes'..'Room To Fall' started playing...amazing..it was a beautiful moment for me. Thank you Tide Radio for that.... the song is basically telling the same story.** To those of you who don't know me, here's my profile.............
Zorki is a Yugoslavian name though I was born in Toledo, grew up in Cleveland..ventured out to NYC at the tender age of 17, was a street (park) musician for years..played in various clubs on Bleecker Street for years...wandered out to Berkeley California..played in the streets there as well..(opened up once for the late, great Jerry Garcia at the Keystone)..wandered back to NYC...played in the streets some more..hooked up with some great musicians ..had some really great times gigging in the Hamptons and Montauk, at places like The Wild Rose and The Tippery Inn...cut a couple self produced CD's with some of the best players on this planet ( Bruce Koplow, Jeff Pevar, Tony Levin, Bakithi Kumalo, Tom Curiano, Morris Golberg, Tony Cedras, Jeff Golub, Keith Lentin, Steve Holley, Eric Parker, Anton Fig, Marc Schulman, Wally Usiatynski, Dan Heymann, Mike Tait, Bill Campion, John Cruz, Stefano Capobianco, Pam Shelby..) Found love in the city and followed it to the mountains in NC.. and now I perform all around the south east, though mostly in Highlands NC.... I still go home to NYC and Cleveland for gigs ..last year I hooked up with the great Jon Pousette-Dart (of the Pousette-Dart Band) and played some cool festivals in the North East.....haven't had to have a real job yet..have a beautiful wife who I met in Washington Square Park..first kiss on Bleecker street..We have two beautiful little boys..(keeping us awake)...currently working on a new CD...trying to shake the small town blues...
