ZORROS PETARDOS SALVAJES: Come Rockin´since 7 years ago. Founded in september 1997 by Heavy Petardo (guitar), Zorro Andres (Fuzz guitar) and El Gato Salvaje (drums). they decided to do instrumental rock in Argentina deeply influenced by the sixties surf, garage and also punk rock music, recreating those classics of a crude and primitive sound. At the end of that year drummer David Kenobi (now in THE TANDOORIS) joins to the band and El Gato passes to play bass guitar.
In the following year precisely in may Dave Kenobi leaves the band and is replaced by El Torte in the fall of june. They began to record some demos and continued performing in Buenos Aires pubs and halls circuit.
On october 1999 they release their prime opera "Hell´s Angels" in a totally independant form and in december the Cassette "Live at the Pool Once" with only 15 copies!!!!
in the first month of 2000 the fanzine Body Bag release an Cassette (under his label "666") "Zorros Petardos Salvajes" with 6 songs extracted from Hell´s Angels CD. In april they record at Tiburon Records Studios what would be "ZPS 2000" ( or "the big wave"). In september Daniel Easy Rider was incorporated in saxophone and he was a year with the group. Also was sold only by request the CD "Psychedelics" where they free experimental madness.
In january 2002 El Gato left the band and El Pelu took his place but he lasted only one month! In march Dr. Todochou comes into the band with his velocity bass playing and Ramones image!!
In this year re-release on CD all ZPS material recorded so far and a typical rarities CD "Outtakes Vol.1". In october ZPS and THE SURFACERS organize the first surf festival in Argentina "The Surf Fest 1" with LOS VENGADORES and THE BELVEDERES.
2003 was the most activing year in a matter of shows. The american label "Golly Gee Records" release a Various Artists CD tribute to THE SUPERTONES "Modern Surf Bands Spotlight" ZPS contribute with 2 songs (one of them unreleased "The Sweet Ride").
On november 8th ZPS participated in the traditional B.A.Stomp 4 besides HISTORIA DEL CRIMEN, REVEREND BEAT MAN/THE MONSTERS and the glorious GUITAR WOLF.
The 29th of the same month theres was another edition of "Surf Fest 2" with THE SURFACERS, THE TORMENTOS and KANIBALES SURF COMBO from Chile.
They also incorporated in keyboards to Carlos "Cali" Molina. In december 13th he performe alive for the first time with the Zorros in a gig in the "Especial" pub.
On 2004 travelled around the Argentinian Coast in a summer tour with their unseparated friends THE SURFACERS (with Santiago on bass!!)
After concluding the tour Carlos "Cali" Molina announces his departure leaving the Zorros totally non-plussed owing to a very serious auditive problem!!
On june 12th it is organize the first "Garage Attack Vol. 1" (a big success!!!) with THE TANDOORIS, THE TORMENTOS and LOS PEYOTES.
3 months later on september 18th takes place the second "Garage Attack Vol.2" with THE TANDOORIS, LOS GRILLOS and DISTORTION SURF. In this festival it was sold a most recomendable CD live "Garage Attack Vol.1" with the 4 combos who played in this event and ZPS present 4 songs ("Sen-sa-shung","Uruguayo en Patines","El Moskito" and "El Chumbo Diddley"). Surprisingly this was the last Dr. Todochou performing because he was decided to dedicate himself to another projects. In october his replacing is Dirty Ernie (ex-THE JOINTS). In january travel to Chile to plays 2 shows from "Revervorama Festival 1" with LOS KANIBALES SURF COMBO and LOS VIBRADORES. The Mexican label "Isotonic Records" publish"Instro Latin-o-Rama" an Various Artists compilation, the Zorros cooperate with 1 song. in the next month plays in "Cosquin Rock Festival" in the Province of Cordoba. In the middle of 2005 the double titles "Fuzzriders / Instromotor" was released on Zorro Petiso Records! On december returning to Chile for the "Reverborama Festival 2" this time with LOS KAHUNAS and LOS KANIBALES SURF COMBO.
In july the sessions of "Satanic Fields" was recorded on Cabure Studios.
In the same month was release a Various Artist CD "Tributo A Los Gatos" ZPS contribute with 1 song ( Mañana ) on the new argentinian label "Other History Records".
The ZPS are preparing for a new musical horizons. So far the musical experience is absolutely positive. But the most striking thing is that the label "OTHER HISTORY RECORDS" has risked for us and they we´ll do that our music will be listened to in several parts of our world.
