Bio
Zoubi is only twenty one but has self-identified as an artist for many years. Half a lifetime ago she was obsessed with horses. She persisted in drawing them to the point where she could dash off a credible likeness without a model. In high school she did striking paintings on huge canvasses. Six years ago she started guitar lessons and within a few weeks was writing songs. Her songs are poems about her emotional life set to music. Her sweet unassuming character shines through the words and her catchy tunes inspire other musicians who play along. Raised on Hornby Island where art is held in high esteem she grew up in Victoria. She first-performed at a high school talent show where she connected with fellow singer-songwriter Tanja Lindquist. They collaborated in 2005 as the duet; VitalMints. In winter of 2008 they formed a trio, Rule 27, together with drummer, Haley Barr. They performed at open mic's around town, Rifflandia festival, Logans, Element nightclub and experimented with recording. Zoubi recently recorded a demo in Victoria BC.
