Zumba was formed in 2003 by guitarists Sam McCune and Rob Malone because
of their love of Cuban Jazz. However, the bands influences are much more diverse,
incorporating Latin, Ska, Indian, Arabian and World Music Ideas and Instruments.
All 16 of the basic tracks for the album are down now, as well as some percussion, piano and guitar overdubs. 2 intros need recording one on sitar for Djinn and an acoustic guitar for another. A few more overdubs (percussion, violin, oud, sitar, mandolin and some guest spots) a final mixing and mastering session and the Zumba album will be ready.
There will be four covers including Macusa (Compay Segundo), Kaiowas (Sepultura), Misirlou (Greek Traditional, Dick Dale, Pulp Fiction), Candela (Buena Vista Social Club).
The other 12 songs are original compositions, including Rubber Bones (which you can listen to a rough mix of here), Nemesi, Djinn, Shiny, Scary scary!, Fred the skull, 78 Banditos, Militant plus as yet unamed latin dub, funk and latin fusion songs
Also check out Hungryghost, he sampled Sam McCune and Rob Malones pre Zumba swamp rock for the end of his song Grott.

Dear zumba
I am about to give out my next album and I would really appreciate your input by choosing wich one of these songs should be included : " Redemption songs " or " Amor Amor " .
" You don´t love someone for their looks, or their clothes, or their fancy car, but because they sing a song you can hear" right guys...!?
