so i made some seamless mixes using cd architect for the show the other night. i figured out the secret to making a difficult transition into an easy one, you just put the opening to chocolate rain between the two. so, example: funny little feeling (rock n roll soldiers) into chocolate rain riff, into zyzzyx gimme more remix into lemon crush. si?
i'm dj-ing a show tonight at cafe amore in belltown. well, i hate to call it dj-ing when there's no turntables, as i just recently found out is the case. but needless to say i'll be playing a lot of zyzzyx. where's your record? i need it! mp3s really don't cut the mustard, as you well know.
In a dingy Portland hotel, Kurt Cobain and Townes Van Zandt, stoned on some heroin they scored from William S. Burroughs, share a hallucination of Prince, Stephen Merrit, and Tom Waits smoking out of a solid brass hookah. THIS IS THE SOUND OF ZYZZYX!
that may be true, but i bet most of the eight plays a day you're getting are from me. i play your shit over and over every day. seriously. it's that good. xo d
where's ours? shit we're recording it RIGHT NOW! (i'm serious, we are, well, as soon as i stop typing this). you wanna come guest on a track? that is, if you can remember how to play a guitar... OH BURN!
