..Children's books. I'm a Member of the Society Of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI), the Society Of Authors and the Children's Book Circle.
Music
..Right now it's Duffy
Movies
..Been revisiting Disney Classics. Looking out for THE WAITING ROOM 'Brief Encounter in Balham' on DVD. Pixar Shorts .
Television
..Whose Line Is It Anyway is back on - the American version is so much funnier than our British one. Perhaps it's because 20 years have gone by since I first saw it.
Books
Sir Gawain and The Green Knight translated by Simon Armitage is totally absorbing - I never thought I'd say that.
..
My name is Sue Eves, I'm a children's author/illustrator and puppeteer. I now have an agent for acting work Yay!
Ever since I was about 7, when I decided I didn't want to be a vet after all because I didn't like sick animals, I've never decided what I wanted to be when I grew up. I've moved from one creative project to the next - Singer/songwriter on the London Comedy Circuit - Actor with Oily Cart (National Children's Theatre)- Researcher for Disney Channel, TV puppeteer, Scriptwriter for Tikkabilla (CBBC), Picture Book Author/illustrator(Random House & Andersen Press) and currently children's fiction writer in collaboration with Alix Parker under the name of
Fox E Parker
It's on 29th November now so the publicity machine can do its thing! Not quite so scared now - people are still buying it so can't be all bad!! When's Noisy Dog out?
Hi Sue, Thank you for the support! I had a lot of fun with that book and I'm glad it shows. Wait until you see what we're doing with Kaimira right now... Exciting stuff!
I'm having book launch party in my myspace office! Drop by and take a look - it's nonfiction which is different for me but feel free to drop in and invite your friends x
How are you? How's your book work going? I must try another shot at getting mine around publishers at some point... would you fancy having a look at it at some point and let me know what you think, would be fab to have some feedback from yourself :)
I am cross because: a) cattle have just trashed my garden b) the farmer is a buffoon c) nothing seems to work anymore d) I'm tired e) I don't have enough time to read, write or just be civil.
Hey! things are slowing down (a little) so I just stopped to check your page out. You've had a lot of interesting career experiences-- great stuff! How's that adorable pup?
HeyPix How are you? Thanks for your friendship - I really appreciate it. Please stop by my page and have a listen to my nu single - I LOVE YOU. Thanks so much! EWING
That has got to be the *cutest* doggie picture I've ever seen! Awesome!! :D I'll try to get some pics of the sheep-- we continue in our running.... ugh. They've actually stayed in for over a week now, so I'm getting hopeful that we might have found the last hole and patched it!
Thank you for you kind comments. I think you're right, perhaps I need to live without electricity for a while: or at least leave the laptop, the ipod and all the other gadgets at home.
"I decided I didn't want to be a vet after all because I didn't like sick animals"
I devoured the Herriot books when I was about 14 or 15, and thus was my life's purpose revealed to me. Soon afterwards I met my first computer and that was the end of wanting to be a vet.
well we might not be in the house tomorrow...until Monday >.>...My dad's cocked things up again and put the money in a day late so it's very stressful haha...ah well...we are almost done with packing actually and I'm sure we'll still see you on Sunday...hopefully in our new house but we'll have to wait and see...see you soon!
Hi, Sue! Hope you're getting some clear weather for walking by now! Ours has been good, but I find myself chasing sheep (more or a trot than a walk, really)-- so no camera. Hopefully I'll be back to the photos soon! Thanks for the note!
I love Skellig! Sorry to have missed him but good on you sneaking in : )
Children are so lucky to have these wonderful author events - and authors visiting their schools too. I didn't have anything like that when I was a young avid reader. I would have loved it and it would certainly have helped me in my determination to become a writer.
And lovely to see you and meet your family. Wasn't Michael Rosen fabulous! I will 'add' him too. He had such energy and enthusiasm. And I was the one he first picked on - the "there's always one". I soon joined in after that ; ) Victoria x
