A side project of king collaborator/drummer extraordinaire Zach Hill (Hella, Marnie Stern, El Grupo Nuevo, the Ladies, Team Sleep, Holy Smokes, Wavves, etc.
) and guitar virtuoso Nick Reinhart of Tera Melos, Bygones came to fruition in Sacramento, CA. With a similar sound as Hill’s solo debut, Astrological Straits, Bygones’ debut was a blur of spastic math rock and warbly pop vocal melodies released by Sargent House on June 23 of 2009. Simply titled By-, the album was issued on CD and vinyl, and pictured the Dirty Projectors’ Amber Coffman eating a sloopy joe on the cover. ~ Jason Lymangrover
