Formed in 2005 by David Pajo of Slint, Louisville's Dead Child capture the sound and fury of classic metal.
By fusing together the rumbling doom of Black Sabbath with the speed and vocal acrobatics of Judas Priest, Dead Child create music that captures the sound and feel of classic heavy metal without irony. Along with Pajo are guitarist Michael McMahan and bassist Todd Cook, both of whom played with Pajo during the 2005 Slint reunion, as well as drummer Tony Bailey and vocalist Dahm. Before the group was able to do any recording, Dead Child appeared in the Louisville, KY, installment of Brenda Canty's Burn to Shine film series, performing their first song, "Never Bet the Devil Your Head." In 2007 the group released a self-titled EP on Cold Sweat Records. Their first full-length album, Attack, arrived in April 2008 on Touch & Go Records imprint Quarterstick. ~ Greg Heaney
