Having started his vocal career as a jazz singer, he still cultivates a love for vocal improvisation and a creative approach to interpretation and arranging. His solo performances combine ‘passion and tenderness with a rare rhythmic precision’ (The Guardian). A soulful singer and a versatile improviser, Guillermo’s originals and his distinctive take on popular songs from Argentina, Brazil, Mexico and Cuba are sometimes influenced by Middle Eastern and Indian vocal styles. Guillermo has recently toured the UK with box-office success show Midnight Tango and he can be heard regularly at London’s most renowned Jazz and World music venues.
