"Down home rockin' blues, tasty as strudel.

Indigo Rocks was founded by Nils Krüger in 2004 as a blues rock trio. Nils had previously been guitarist in several blues bands from Hamburg - including Dixie Specials, Pearly Gates, Baltimore Blues Band, Rhubarb and Big Dirt. With Markus Portworsnick on bass and Torsten Spörck on drums, Nils could rely on a tight rhythm section, because both men had already been grooving together for three years in a cover band called Lucky Punch. Torsten also helped out Rockstedt who consist of NDR employees (Norddeutscher Rundfunk, a TV and radio station in Northern Germany) and needed a drummer now and then. In the beginning he played with Rocksoff for ten years and Lie & Cheat for another two years.

In November 2006, the line-up was completed by Hans-Jürgen Bardenhagen, guitar player and singer since 1980 with the Bluezz Bastardzz, "that little ol' ZZ Top cover band from Hamburg..." Bassist Markus Portworsnik moved to the Eifel region in south-west Germany in June 2007, and his replacement Markus Giza joined the Indigo Rocks line-up for their new schedule of gigs and recordings. He formerly played with the Second Hand Band from Ahrensburg and with Cathroon Hunter, Straitmark and Kiosk, his hardrock and cover bands from the early '80s.

Their musical direction still embraces Texas blues rock style like Stevie Ray Vaughan and Los Lobos, but also explores the possibilities of twin guitars and rock, funk and swing influences. They are continually adding more of their own songs to their repertoire.

Their album "Live im Riff" was recorded on June 28th, 2008 at the "Riff", a small live music club in Hamburg-Volksdorf, Germany which now hosts the "Flava club". On August 9th, 2013 it was digitally released on all major online shops and streaming sites including iTunes, Amazon, Google Play, Xbox Music, 7digital, Spotify, Deezer, Rdio, Simfy, Napster, Ampya et al.
