Formed in 2000 as a solo outlet for singer/songwriter Paco Tamarit, Spanish indie pop outfit Serpentina craft melodic, complex, neo-psychedelic indie pop nuggets in the vein of Chad & Jeremy, the Essex Green, Parade, and Louis Philippe.
In 2002 Paco was joined by sister María Tamarit, officially making the project a duo. Serpentina signed with Spanish indie label Annika the following year, releasing their full-length debut, Blancamañana, in 2004. More touring and studio dates followed, and in 2007 the band began to mix its sophomore record. With influences ranging from Ennio Morricone to Margo Guryan to the Cardigans, Planeando en Tu Azotea was released in 2008 on the Elefant Spain label. ~ James Christopher Monger
