"Emily Gee's first novel, THIEF WITH NO SHADOW, is a finely-faceted gem. Her haunting prose reads like Hans Christian Andersen for twenty-first century adults. Mindy Klasky"

Emily Gee's Blurbs |
About me:
I'm a writer, and my debut novel THIEF WITH NO SHADOW
was published by Solaris in 2007. For more information about me and my writing, including excerpts, behind the scenes snippets, a bio, and travel photos, visit my website www.emilygee.com. Otherwise, stay a while and have a look at the beautiful cover by Larry Rostant -- it captures the dark mood of the book brilliantly -- or view the trailer for THIEF WITH NO SHADOW.
Here's the blurb for THIEF:
A world where the ordinary and the extraordinary co-exist, where tall fire-breathing salamanders live alongside men and magic runs in certain bloodlines.
Melke is a wraith, able to walk unseen. Feared by all, hunted and hated, she has lost nearly everything she holds dear. Now she is forced to do the unthinkable: to save her brother’s life she must use her magical gift to steal.
But her thieving has devastating consequences. The stolen necklace was strung with tears, and without it Bastian sal Vere can’t break the curse that is destroying his family. And undoing her crime may cost Melke her life. The necklace now lies deep within a salamander’s den, a place of flame and pain that no thief has ever returned from. And time is running short. The moon grows full, and someone must face the creature that laid the curse and suffer its terrible vengeance.
Exciting news: THIEF WITH NO SHADOW is being translated into French!
And -- more exciting news! -- my second fantasy novel, THE LAURENTINE SPY, will be published in 2009 by Solaris. Like THIEF WITH NO SHADOW, it's dark and romantic; unlike THIEF there are no salamanders! Instead there are spies and a magic called witch-eye. When I have a blurb, I'll post it.
Also next year, my first regency novel written as Emily May will be published by Harlequin Mill & Boon. Look for THE EARL'S DILEMMA on shelves in spring or summer 2009!

Who I'd like to meet:
Writers, readers, and interesting people, och folk som är svensk eller kan svenska -- fast det är flera år sedan jag var i sverige och min svenska har blivit väldigt dåligt!
(And if time travel was possible, I'd love to meet the Latin poet Catullus, who wrote incredible poems about love and life in 50s BC, and Pliny the Younger, who witnessed the eruption of Vesuvius in 79 AD. Yes, Latin was my favourite subject at school. I'm a freak!)
