Bio
......Debbie Giles' Midnight Train.... began when Debbie met acclaimed drummer Sam Kelly met at the Maryport Blues Festival, whilst performing with their own named bands and soon discovered their mutual love for blues. Having both appeared in musical theatre on the London Stage and felt they had so much in common it soon developed into a Band!.. ..With influences from Bonnie Raitt to Little Feat, Etta James to Bill Withers, Steely Dan, James Brown and Keb Mo, Midnight Train is a mix of Funk, Soul, Blues and R & B creating an uplifting and dynamic set, which appeals to a wide range of audiences. Accompany Debs' smooth rich vocals are Steve Oakman a vibrant, creative keyboard player, on guitar the sensitive touch of Pete Emery and on steady funky bass Chris Belshaw.. Their ever-increasing live set features such numbers as; “On the 7th Day” Etta James, “Fundamental”, Bonnie Raitt, “I Am” Johnny Lang/Prince, “Clean up Woman” Betty Wright, “Stormy Monday” T-Bone Walker, “Breakin up Somebody’s Home” Ann Peebles and “Help the Poor” BB King, producing a blues/soul fusion with strong impassioned vocals from Debbie Giles and the unforgettable rhythms of Sam Kelly... .. ........ .. -

Firstly a big THANK YOU to all of you who made it to the Bull @ Barnes last night, you were a fabulous audience, what a great gig!!
You haven't got a clone in Kent have you?? We're trying to break new ground in a new area to us at The Plaza Suite at the Stag Theatrein Sevenoaks this Friday 26th November, and so I've managed to arrange a 10% discount on entry, making it £12.50. So if you can tell all your friends down there to come along, that would be just brilliant. They need to call 07798 767770 (www.brandywinemusic.co.uk) mention my name of course, any probs come back to me.
Hope you're all enjoying your CD!! - Debbie Giles' Midnight …1 year ago
