About me:
El Centro de la Raza is a civil and human rights organization that has a rich history of service to the community. We currently have 24 programs and have been around for over 36 years. We are the voice and hub for the Latino community, we provide comprehensive services to those in need and we believe that children are our most valuable resource. El Centro’s philosophy centers around empowering community members to advocate for positive social change as a community service in and of itself. Some of our services within the 24 programs we provide are: -Bilingual/multicultural child development center -After school program that focuses on history and the arts -Homeless services (food, housing, employment) -Homeownership counseling and workshops -Financial literacy to women of domestic violence -ESL and citizenship classesWho I'd like to meet:

Hello Everyone,
El Centro is in need of volunteers for the Fourth Annual Youth Celebration, which will be held June 5th 5-9pm. There will be breakdancing, banda vagos, hip hop performances, dancing, awards ceremony and dinner. If you're interested in volunteering please contact volunteer@elcentrodelaraza.org
To El Centro's friends and family:
This year we are getting an early start for Dia de los Muertos!
El Centro's Multi-cultural Tribute to Juan Rulfo's Pedro Paramo
And your soul?
Where do you think it's gone?
It must be wandering around up there on earth, like all those others,
looking for people to pray for it.
we are inviting our friends and family to send in pictures in the style of Juan Rulfo. Nostalgic images of loss and melancholy. These may include pictures of cemeteries, desert sceneray exc. The image chosen by El Centro will be featured on our dia de los muertos invitation along with any other advertisement that will be used for the event.
The Deadline is April 20.
Gracias
