Based out of Houston and 2008 nominated "Best Cover Band In Houston" in the Houston Press, 80 PROOF is an 80's cover band committed to playing some of the best hits from history’s finest musical decade. Although the band has only been performing together since October of 2007, they collectively have over 30 years of performance history behind them. In mid 2007, each of the members came together after answering an ad on Craigslist for an 80's project.
Chaka Hannah (Bass) and Rudy Star (Lead guitar) were the first two members to begin the efforts towards building the band's core and visualizing the project’s future potential. With the addition of Joey Wyatt (Drums), Jason Miesse (Lead male vocals), and Jeff Bourdier(Keyboards) the band was formed. Immediately they began focusing on a time of great music and a visual experience that is lost in today’s performances. With a full schedule, 80 PROOF continues to bring Houston and the surrounding areas the best of the 80's with a visual experience only matched by the dedication and talent of it's members.
