I am a keen musician and currently play bass guitar in a band called "Joe's Band". I have been with the band for more than 4 years now and we are fairly well known in the Fife area of Scotland.

I am also a member of the European Rush Forum called "The National Midday Sun" or TNMS for short. I have made a lot of like-minded friends from that site and it's a site I visit frequently. http://www.t-n-m-s.com
My other interests/hobbies include eating out, going to the cinema, computers, and playing badminton.
Music
I love music. It is a big part of my life.
I have been a musician for around the last 28 years. In my early years I played keyboards and took flute lessons at school. When I left school I took up the bass guitar and I've never looked back since.
I started off playing bass in my first band "Stress Puppy" back in 1996, then on to "Sooky" playing bass. When "Sooky" disbanded, some friends invited me to join a band called "The Fines" playing bass. "The Fines" were my first band playing original music. During this time, I was also asked to join funk/disco/rock outfit "Velour Amour" playing keyboards.
It was good to be in 2 bands playing 2 completely different instruments but this versatility eventually caught up with me when both bands were getting gigs simultaneously on the same night. I decided it wasn't fair on "Velour Amour" to keep having to get a dep keyboardist so I left the band in favour of "The Fines".
After a while, "The Fines" disbanded due to lack of commitment/interest so I was in limbo for around a year during which time I depped for a few bands including "Shamanic", "The Falcons", "Bite The Bagel" and "Against The Grain".
Then in 2003, a friend and fellow bassist called Andy "Duck" McDonald approached me to ask if I was interested in becoming bassist for local legendary classic soft rock covers band "Joe's Band" as he was retiring from the band due to other commitments. I accepted this position and I'm still playing with the band to this day.
For a short while, I was also playing bass for local original band "The Jack" but retired from that due to work commitments and my commitment to "Joe's Band".
When I am not playing in my band, I listen to bands/artists such as Rush, Pink Floyd, Porcupine Tree, The Corrs, Journey, The Bluetones, Oasis, Marillion, Def Leppard, Deep Purple, and U2.

Books
Not really into reading books, however I did enjoy reading the "Harry Potter" series.
Heroes
My heroes are Geddy Lee (bassist/singer of Rush) as his style of playing has been inspirational to my own style of bass playing.
My wife Kelley, as she is the single most loving person that I care about. She would do anything for me and I have no secrets from her.
