Blue Tuesday #68 at Boston's on the Beach in Delray Beach, Florida. Oh what a party it was... Too bad Otis "No-show" Cadillac missed it! LIVE NATION provided us with some FURTHUR tickets to give away as the GRAND prize in our annual Holiday sac-o-woe give away and the RIGHT person won them as usually happens. Everyone had fun and made it home safely. Biscuit Miller next week! We be back!
Chef John's in Jupiter took a bit of risk and hired a blues band to play a 'RSVP Only dinner and Show" on a MONDAY night and not only did he win big, the 100+ people that came out for some great food and excellent blues where all big winners too with the show that JP Soars & The Red Hots put on for them. Dinner first, get comfortable, then two 75 minute sets....well the second one may have been a bit longer because the people kept dancing and The Red Hots just kept getting Hotter! Congrats to Cheryl who won the drawing for the two tickets to the next special dinner concert to be held in January and congrats to Claudia who won the sign poster for the evening's show. The kitchen and wait staff did a superb job of taking care of everyone. Be sure to check the schedule - they have booked January solid every Wed-Sat with the best music around...And the Jupiter area is turning out to support their efforts!
B.B. King's new blues club in West Palm Beach, Florida, celebrated its Grand Opening this past week with a party for hundreds of their nearest and dearest. First class food, drinks, service and music set the tone for the evening and the future of this great new venue for LIVE music in a show-case setting. The sound was great, and the 'feel' was just right for creating a partying fun mood - well, all the pretty ladies probably helped too! We can see ourselves getting pretty darn comfortable here many nights coming!
Blue Tuesday #67 at Boston's on the Beach had Famous Frank bringing David Shelley to town and people came all the way up from Miami and down from Sebastian to catch this show - and they were not disappointed! We listened, we danced, we ate, we consumed a couple beverages of choice, we conversed with each other and with the musical celebrities in the room... we had another great time of our lives.... See you next week for Blue Tuesday #68...and look for Jazz & Blues Florida's 'sac-o-woe' holiday give away - show up, listen to the music, and win valuable prizes from our bag of goodies, including two tickets for FURTHUR w/ Bob Weir and Phil Lesh at Miami's Bayfront Park Amphitheater, presented by LIVE NATION.
JAMS (The Jazz Arts Music Society of Palm Beach) presented The Ted Howe Trio w/ mark Neuenschwander on bass and Tracey Alexander on drums Tuesday night at the Harriet Theater at CityPlace in West Palm Beach. His "Evening of Duke Ellington" not only highlighted the profound music of Ellington, but his own incredible arranging and musical talents. And, I think he has fun doing it!
Chef John's in Jupiter kicked off their jazz season today with the first Sunday jazz brunch to a full house of listening diners while the Susan Merritt Trio and guests provided the straight-ahead jazz that brought the room to life. If you are in the area next Sunday, be sure to put this on your calendar for great food and excellent jazz - with a roomfull of nice people that love jazz!!
Jazz & Blues Florida's schedule didn't allow much traveling Saturday night, so once again we found our appreciative ears down at The Orange Door in Lake Park where the Nucklebusters where providing the perfect soundtrack to a windy and rainy South Florida night. A glass of wine, The OD, the Nuck's....now that is living!!
Bella Cucina in Palm Beach Gardens was the place for Palm Beach County jazz jammers to be Tuesday evening. Lionel Harrison and his trio hosts a regular jam that swings every Tuesday from 7:30 to 11. Ike Woods and Kirk Green round out the trio and all sorts of players show up to round out the jam. SAMM made her first visit and promises to be back, pending in any conflicts in her business schedule, and we met Bill Ohashi, a trombone player that you will want to hear! You can check out details on this weekly jam at: www.JazzBluesFlorida.com/LionelHarrisonJazzTrio
Wednesday night found us in Jupiter at Chef John's New American Bistro & Blues Bar for their weekly blues-rock jam hosted by Charley Eginton. This was the last of the three scheduled promotion night were Jazz & Blues Florida gave away tickets to the upcoming Roy Rogers show at the Kravis Center to benefit the TARAS Foundation's Dolphin Research Project. The TARAS people where there and added an extra benefit for those in attendance of offering tickets at a 2-for-1 special! Congratz to Verna, who is one of the regular dancers that come to Chef John's music nights. Chef John is now offering a solid program of music every Wed-Sun, with the latest addition being a Sunday jazz brunch that starts this weekend. AND, they are having their first blues dinner concert on the 21st where JP Soars and the Red Hots will be holding down the stage, but probably not the roof; there is only EIGHTEEN DINNER SEATS left for this event and RSVP is REQUIRED. Book it now or you will miss out! info at www.jazzbluesflorida.com/chefjohns
Welcome to the MySpace space of Jazz & Blues Florida! If you like jazz and/or blues music, you will find yourself among friends here. Not only do we chronicle the day-to-day live music scene in photos, blogs, bulletins, and videos, we also provide easy access to learn more about musicians and clubs. Of course we can't get everywhere we would like to around the state, so we rely on our friends to keep us informed and up-to-date. Be sure to check out our other website that hosts our e-zine with artist previews of upcoming shows by both locals and visiting stars and advertisements of all sorts of music related matters. That site also has rather comprehensive listings of all the live jazz & blues that is happening around the state. Be sure to sign up for our weekly email so you know what is happening! See you out on the town or on the Dixie; wherever the good music is happening!

The 30th of december last year it suddenly appear a lighting sceanery on heaven. Luckely I managed to grab a camera and save the image. It was almost like the creator came down in his greatness. With this photo I want to wish you and yours a merry christmas and a happy, new year full of posibilities and great moments. Peace, love and respect. Grandpa_Erik
