as of july 2007, i left my job as worship leader at mars hill bible church. i have loved that community and have so many great memories there, but it was time to move on. where are we going, you ask? we have no idea! but we're super excited about the possibilities.
from a MUSICal perspective, this next season is about trying to dream it all up again. there are so many creative ideas to swim in. there are so many different sides of God and life to explore. there is so much more to be expressed and enfleshed and wandered through. . .and i can't wait to jump in.
these days (early 2008), i'm RECORDING ten of the songs that i wrote for the mars hill community. i couldn't be more excited! it should be available in march. my goal is to record a worship album (music intended to help people connect honestly with God) that doesn't sound like a worship album. there's nothing wrong with the sound of today's worship albums, of course, but i just don't really connect with them. maybe there are more people like me. check out my website (aaronniequist.com) for all the info.
i'm also excited about doing some TRAVELING and joining up with other churches and movements. since i've been so plugged in at mars hill for the last 4.5 years, i haven't been out much! and i can't wait to meet a bunch of new people and see what's happening all over the place.
ULTIMATELY, however, shauna and i want to find a local community to really dive into. we desperately want to be a part of something bigger than ourselves.

Great job this past Sunday. A couple of weeks or so ago I was going to contact you and ask when you were going to play @ Mars again. Boy, someone [who? I wonder ;)] planned that one out just right.
I just wanted to say "thank you" once again. Your words and talents both move and inspire me. I heard it said from a couple of people that they didn't know just how much they missed hearing you play until you were leading us all in worship.
I will definately keep you, Shauna, and Henry in my prayers as you sort out the next chapter of your lives.
Oh, and I beg, beg, BEG you not to let another 13 months go by before you come back and play for Mars again! Please!
You did an amazing job at CDYC! You and the band! Thank you for all the great music! And everything you said! Your songs are a big influence in my life! Thank you so much! God Bless you Nikki Jo ♥
We sang one of your songs on Sunday, and it brought back great memories! :) Hope you and Shauna are doing well, and Henry too! Please stop by Mars sometime, I 'm in need of some good piano 'jammin! Take care! :)
Love the album! We're already making a list of people we want to buy them for (promised one to my mom tonight for mother's day). I hope all your myspace friends will put you on their top friends and add one of your songs to their profile to give you some good promo!
