OK to buy again -- we have found Aaron's original music and art for "Kings" and can now cut CDs and mail. Sorry for the delay. Songs: March of King Rudolph, People, Desperate Measures, Angels, Here Lies a Liar and A Thief, Ice Cream Man, Life is Gay, The Worrry Song, Jackie's Arc, and Long Distance Gospel. As an extra, Aaron included Only Space Only Time at the end.

Remember, you can play "Fountain of Youth" at the NPR Second Stage -- now with a lovely tribute by Robin Hilton.

Aaron Stout’s Debut Album "Queens Live In Caskets" Out Now on Monotreme Records!

- NPR 'All Songs Considered/Second Stage'-"There's no shortage of singer-songwriters in the world, and with all the CDs we get in, it's pretty hard to distinguish one from the other-- but Aaron Stout is one that got our attention...I love the dreamy, otherworldly feel that he's managed to capture on these songs."

"Aaron Stout is absolutely amazing. Well worth checking out if you like your psychedelic folk music." - One World (BBC Radio 1)

"Aaron Stout is a voice that stands apart from the introspective troubadour pack because both his words and his music are sparkling with fresh ideas and insight. Here's a real talent. In this leftfield roots performer we have a name to watch." -Comes With a Smile Magazine

"Aaron Stout has the knack for making the mundane sound glorious. His storytelling is concentrated, his sound is fragile. There are no limitations for this immensely talented Indiana-born, Brooklyn-based musician." -antiMusic.com

"he's so sad when he's doing it you feel sorry for him and skip to the next track hoping he's relaxed a bit, only to find the musical death spiral continues. 'im sure a lot of women I know would enjoy it, it's been my experience that brooding male songwriting plays better to a female ear." -Left Hip magazine

NPR All Songs Considered Review-
Aaron Stout is a singer-songwriter from Brooklyn, NY who makes ethereal, lo-fi psychedelic folk. His first full-length release is Queens Live In Caskets, a largely homemade album out on Monotreme Records. Stout says the name of the album is arbitrary, but hopefully conveys the spontaneous, stream of conscience nature of his work. Over the span of three years, Stout traveled across the U.S while recording "in various rooms and people's basements." Queens Live In Caskets is a compilation of songs about Stout's former state of mind, which he describes as a "sad place." Because of its transient character, the record incorporates found sounds gathered along the way. Stout describes "Fountain of Youth" as "a broken love song." It's an odd mix of Stout's soulful, gentle voice, delicate guitar, and Theremin, with found sounds. The songwriting follows the predominant theme of the record: "a sense of longing, longing for redemption, physically and spiritually."

Aaron Stout Queens Live In Caskets (Monotreme) Ive had the privilege of having had a copy of Aaron Stouts debut record Queens Live In Caskets on CDR now for quite some time and now thanks to the wonderful folk at Monotreme this little gem will now be readily available to all mankind. Queens Live In Caskets is a fragile and varied wonder by young singer-songwriter Stout, a man with a rich and distinctive voice like treacle laced with arsenic. It begins with the slow, march-like rhythm of The Coronation, which is reminiscent of early Bowie pop, before slowly fading into the simple beauty of Space Station, a song that showcases Stout's ease at understated beauty.
However it is in the two of final tracks of the record that his finest work is left to shine. The ghostly and haunting Fountain Of Youth complete with its eerie whistled backing proves to be the records most beguiling number and is followed by the Papa M like splendour of The Ballad Of Curtis Jones, both of which are songs that demonstrate Stout's ability to create much out of little.
Queens Live In Caskets is a record full of understated wonder as well as hidden treats and layers, ones that are only really revealed as you become more familiar with the record. A bit like finding a gracious new friend with a wealth of stories to tell.
-Tasty Fanzine

Aaron Stout is a human who has wandered the earth, and along the way found assorted songs that float around in the air... whether it is futuristic tales of outer space, odes to reckless nights with drum machines, ballads that tell stories that must have been stolen from the mind of Mark Twain, or life sensitive pop songs; Mr. Stout has them all... He has cultivated a talent for finding these songs that are hidden in your daily atmosphere, most likely you have been breathing them for years without realizing it, put them into his pocket and develop a kind friendship with them... after making them part of himself, he humbly gives them back to the people they are about... the random people who live normal lives, the sad and happy people, the performance artists in Prague, the brother, the sister, the friend, and the one that doesn’t have a pronounceable name... with a voice familiar to all your favorite artists, yet so very distinct... his music shows a perfectly balanced hybrid of god given talent, musicianship, and creativity... with his debut album Queens Live in Caskets under his belt... he has proven that he will not be an artist that stays stationary... with new band in hand and forthcoming album The Mind Of Kings Is Unreachable slated for a nearby release. He has moved in a direction that is hard for many artist to achieve, the direction of forward, while admitting to the past, yet seeing the future. It seems that Aaron Stout has found a hidden mountain or canyon amongst the big city where he can steal a new batch of songs from the air that will be sure to not disappoint... I eagerly await the release of this new work and I encourage all music fans to experience what they have somehow helped inspire -Gill

Aaron and Jim,

On Thursday night I went to the Lockerbie for Annie and Andy's "Let it Go" party.  I danced and danced, but I will never learn to let you go, dear sweet friend.  Some of our friends were there.  I hugged them and we spoke of you.  We will speak of you forever...because you touched our hearts with your kindness, your laughter, your softness.  Your everything.  The last day I spent with you is implanted in my heart forever.  You played all your songs for me in Broad Ripple.  We danced in Anna's kitchen.  And I will keep that day, will keep you, in my heart forever and always.

Love,
Jessie

Dude,
I want something to ask,
Can you imagine when this race is won ,
Do you really want to live forever,
Forever young,
I forgot to ask.

“Dying is not romantic, and death is not a game which will soon be over... Death is not anything... death is not... It's the absence of presence, nothing more... the endless time of never coming back... a gap you can't see, and when the wind blows through it, it makes not sound...”
Tom Stoppard

whenever I visit your profile I see and hear how wrong this quote is. I can feel your presence through your music.
