Sound artist and producer-DJ Levon Louis is the only permanent member of Absynthesis... hailed "a driving force" by The Austin Chronicle and up for music awards in Houston including "Best DJ", "Best Electronica", and "Keyboardist of the Year"
Levon often slept in an open guitar case as a baby and appeared on his first published recording at age 4... His mother was a cabaret costume designer and his father's new wave band opened for Duran Duran on their stadium tour in 1984, later that same year Levon appeared in Newsweek Magazine as a featured break-dancer.
Using whatever gear dad had around the house, including turntables, multi-track tape decks, synths, guitars, and a C-64 computer Levon was an early adopter of electronic music and already a DJ before he could drive a car... He perforemd at dozens of raves during the 1990s with his live p.a. outfit, Lunatex, a project praised by press who called Levon "a pioneer" for his early adoption of the live p.a. performance style... Lunatex released a full-length album, topping the charts on mp3.com, and appearing on the first Xbox video games.
In 2000, Levon began working with Oscar/Emmy winner and X-Files sound creator Michael Kimball to learn the complex art of sound effects design for motion pictures and new media... Sound effects became a part of his music and an extension of his professional trade skills... Today Levon is a Hollywood-savvy sound effects creator and Foley director who shares multiple BAFTA (British Academy Award) nominations for his works in film and video game productions along with credits directing sound production for games like Wet and Silent Hill: Homecoming.
In addition to Absynthesis is the creator of the world-chill studio project Mushroom Lounge and a regular contributor Dead P.A.
Because his brand of no-boundaries, wide-influence electronic music is pure and timeless it continues to spread like wildfire, catching on with fans of alternative electronica, techno, electro, synth-pop, and experimental music everywhere... Levon Louis is currently engaged in several musical collaborations and studio productions including independent films and front line games.
