AC Indie is a "let's independent" style show at the lovely Air Conditioned Lounge in Venice CA. Hosted by Matt Salas and Jacob Summers of the Rhone Occupation, AC Indie is a monthly showcase of the best local indie bands that Los Angeles has to offer. Focusing on creating an evening that both the fans, and the bands can enjoy, we hope that AC Indie will soon become something that everyone will look forward to each 1st Sunday of the month.

_ Westside alert: When it comes to bringing indie rock to points west of the 405, many have tried, few have prevailed. Now Matt Salas and his bandmates in the Rhone Occupation are giving it another whirl. A monthly night called “AC Indie” kicks off March 1 (it’s planned for the first Sunday of every month) at the Air Conditioned Supper Club (625 Lincoln Blvd.) with the solidly Eastside lineup of Flashing Red Lights, the Parson Red Heads, the World Record and One Trick Pony. You indie kids who I hear complaining about driving in from Venice or Santa Monica, support. - Buzz Bands- Kevin Bronson

If you, like seemingly most of the musicians in this town, live on the West Side of LA, you know the music scene over there is frustratingly light on great shows and quality venues -- and you're probably sick of driving every night all the way to Echo Park, Silver Lake, and the rest. (I moved from there four years back for this very reason...)
Well, the guys at AC Indie would rather light a candle than curse your darkness... They're starting a new monthly at The Air-Conditioned Supper Club in Venice on Lincoln to bring in some of the best local acts. They're modeling it roughly after our recently-retired Let's Independent! night, just a little farther west, and we're helping out a bit with it.
The first event is on Sunday, March 1st with the stellar line-up of The Parson Redheads, Flashing Red Lights, The World Record, and One Trick Pony for just $6.

"The ultimate goal was threefold: to support a scene on the Westside, have great lineups, and support bands that we're really into," Summers said. "We were going to hold it in the back alley of a barbershop, but we ran into problems getting the space. About 6 months ago, we found Air Conditioned and were really impressed with the layout, look and location of the place." Air Conditioned Indie will also attempt to pick up some of the slack left by two of the scene's more notable local band showcases -- Radio Free Silverlake's Let's
Independent! , which ended in November 2008 after a 2-year run, and the now-defunct Indie 103.1's Check One...Twosdays. "We were big supporters of Let's Independent -- the lineup was always spot on, and the show was one that you wanted to see through from start to finish; it wasn't something you wanted to go to just to see one band," explained Summers. "We want to make this monthly a standard for what a great night of local music can be - both for the bands and the fans." - www.LA.com/music-reviews -DIANA SALIER-
We are so excited to announce that AC Indie is teaming up with Jon Hershfield and ISGOODMUSIC! We are truly excited about the potential of building our relationship with ISGOOD, and we’re focused on continuing this special show that has the BANDS interests as our top priority!
If you are not familiar with the show: AC Indie is a monthly that started in March 2009, with guidance of Joe Fielder and the intention of continuing the momentum of “Let’s Independent!” Along with the other members of our group, “the Rhone Occupation”, we’ve focused on having great bands that compliment each other, and are dedicated to making the night a great experience for both the bands, and their fans.
The show is held at Air Conditioned Supper Club, in Venice – Don’t be afraid of the west side!!! Parking is a breeze, and we’ll rap it up in time for you to get home and get a good night’s sleep! The show is 21+ so don’t forget your ID’s! Doors at 8:30pm- only $6.

Then make that imp-wards peripatetic journey to Pasadena this Saturday and watch us confuse a bunch of drunkards with strange sounds and words.
That's right! This Saturday Antique Imp we'll be playing at the Old Town Pub in Pasadena. We go on at 11:30 and will be playing deep into the darkest nether regions of the night, aka for as long as we feel like.
This show marks our 1-year anniversary as a band (20 shows in one year--weee!), so it's sure to be a special night for us. Come on by and take part in the love.
Tix are $8 at the door, though if you plan on attending, send us a message and we'll do our damndest to get you on the guest list. Empty slots are running thin quickly though, so best to RSVP as soon as possible.
The Old Town Pub is located at 66 N. Fair Oaks Ave, Pasadena CA 91103, blocks away from where the 710 and the 134 meet.
Unfortunately we don't have a flier to give you at this time, so here's a picture of Dick Cheney as a baby. As you can tell, he was a huge fan of Antique Imp from even a young age.
