ACKROS est né en 1991 avec la création de SCATOPHAGUS par Vincent (ex-GARDEN OF DECAY) et Laurent un ex-membre de MASSACRA NOISE et MYSTICA.
Pendant 4 ans, le groupe écume la scène métal belge et va aussi jouer à Paris et dans le Nord de la France.
A la même période les musiciens enregistrent 2 démos :
- 1992 - The Sea Maiden
- 1993 - I Will Be Born
Ils retournent en studio en 1994 pour une promotape.
Au printemps 1995, ne restant plus que Vincent du line-up initial, SCATOPHAGUS, après une centaine de concerts, devient ACKROS (Christophe faisant partie du nouveau line-up).
La formation continue de jouer sur scène jusqu'en 1997, puis les changements de line-up et les aléas éloignent ACKROS des salles de concerts.
ACKROS s’engage avec un nouveau batteur, Thomas et un nouveau bassiste, Benoit.
Thomas avec qui le groupe prends alors une autre orientation musicale que les autres membres du groupe ne garderont pas lors de son départ.
En 1998, Eric remplace Benoit à la basse auprès de Christophe et Vincent, toujours à la recherche d’un batteur pouvant leur apporter le soutien rythmique nécessaire.
En 2006, Christophe et Eric quittent le groupe.
Fin 2006, le groupe voit le retour de son ancien batteur, Laurent (INNERFIRE) déjà derrière les fûts dans SCATOPHAGUS.
Un deuxième guitariste xJosx (CURSE), Serge (LENG TCH'E) au chant et Phil (DOMINE HATE) à la basse viennent complèter le nouveau line-up et mettre fin au turnover des membres.
Le premier album du groupe "THE MULTIVERSE" est sorti ce 17/11/2008.

During 4 years, the band skims the Belgian metal scene and also play in Paris and in the North of France.
At the same time the musicians records 2 demos:

They go back to studio in 1994 for a promotape.
In Spring 1995, not staying more than Vincent of the initial line-up, SCATOPHAGUS, after hundred of concerts, become ACKROS (Christophe being a part of the new line-up).
They continue to play on stage until 1997, then the changes of line-up and the chances take away ACKROS from concert halls.
ACKROS finds a new drummer, Thomas and a new bass player, Benoit. Thomas with whom the band take then another musical orientation that the other members of the group will not keep after his departure.
In 1998, Eric replaces Benoit at the bass guitar with Christophe and Vincent, always in search of a drummer which could bring them the necessary rhythmic support.
In 2006, Christophe and Eric leaves the band.
At the end of 2006, the band see the return of his former drummer, Laurent (INNERFIRE) already behind barrels in SCATOPHAGUS.
A second guitarist xJosx (CURSE), Serge (LENG TCH'E) as singer and Phil (DOMINE HATE) at the bass come to complete the new line-up and to terminate the turnover of the members.
