Hi there! My name is Tim and I created this A.C. Marias fanpage as a kind of online resource for all A.C. Marias stuff. I have spent a lot of years listening to "One of Our Girls" and I still think it is an amazing album.
Over on the right I have put links to other pages that are worth checking out for information about A.C. Marias, and if you scroll down the page you will find 3 A.C. Marias videos that I have found on Youtube that you can watch here. There are also some pictures and scans that are worth checking out in the photos.
If you have anything that you would like me to add to this page, or if you have found another video, or something on the web that it would be good to link to, please let me know.
Thank you so much for your fan page. I can't find very much music online for her. All my vinyl was lost in a studio fire ...... all the Dome stuff is not around either....there is so many artists that went from where Bruce and Angela were going and were either influenced or were on the same page at the same time as they were. They pretty much summed up the early 80s post-punk sound. I know this might sound blasphemous, but JUST TALK was recorded in 1984 along with Victorialand and It Will End In Tears that same year. John Fryer also worked with BC that same year with that HE SAID Album....................Just saying...
Hallo Tim, wonderful story. How eerily apt to discover Dead Can Dance this way. Must have felt like an angel call indeed. I love Dead Can Dance, in fact I’ve seen them live in their „Toward The Within“ days. „Rakim“ is a song that I still I can’t find words for. It’s like an unbelievably bewitching gesture of grace in an oriental garden. It’s got something that can make rocks crumble. It makes you want to take home the girl that’s standing on a hill, hair blowing in the wind, looking out for a rider. It makes you want to be that rider. Or something. :) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=itwL5y0He-k Still wondering how I could live without the „One Of Our Girls...“ CD. Until I got it, your „little“ page is my sheet anchor. Completely stunned by the timeless beauty of this music. „To Sleep“, „There’s A Scent Of Rain In The Air“... mesmerizing, absolutely breathtaking. All good things, Christian
Hi Tim, thank you for friendship... „Just Talk“: I recorded the song on tape from a radio station that must have been on another planet, long ago, NOT getting the name of the artist then, ever since it’s haunting me, so mysterious, delicate and sublime. Someone from Wire was involved, that was all I remembered, and the guitar sounded familiar indeed. Somehow I preferred to keep the mystery of that „from another world“ moment, something almost holy about this song for me, so it seemed right. :) Only a while ago I finally searched after the artist’s name, then saw the video – bedazzled again. Now I know there’s even more songs to haunt me. Thank you for creating this tribute page. Terrific.
finally I know the name of the dancer in the "one of our girls" video. it's JULIE HOOD. she is in another video called SHIVERING MAN music by BRUCE GILBERT conceived by ANGELA CONWAY just follow the link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iBgEjyn8ArM
